Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte reiterates he’s ready to kill alleged "King of Rice Smugglers"
The guy means it.
David Dizon of ABS-CBNnews.com reports that Davao City mayor Rodrigo Duterte has boldly declared in a Senate hearing that he is ready to kill businessman Davidson Bangayan "if he catches the latter smuggling rice in his city."
According to the report, the feisty mayor said in the Senate agriculture committee hearing on Monday (February 3) that he has received intelligence reports confirming that Davidson Bangayan is the man behind alleged rice smuggling king David Tan, who is just believed to be a pseudonym. "He might use a thousand names - George Washington, Rodrigo Duterte, whatever. He is the one doing business, committing the crime of rice smuggling as David Tan," he said.
Duterte said he will make good on his earlier promise to shoot Bangayan once he catches the businessman smuggling goods in Davao City. He said he is ready to commit a crime for the sake of the country and is "not afraid of going to jail for killing a rice smuggler."
"If this guy would go to Davao and start to unload, pag nakita ko siya in the commission of a crime, I will gladly kill him...Siyempre hihintayin ko siyang lumabas. Pag lumaban ito and he puts up a good fight, I will not hesitate. I will do it for my country," he said.
