1. DO A MOVIE MARATHON, CINEMANILA-STYLE.

Catch the 12th Cinemanila International Film Festival from December 1 to 5 at the Robinsons Movieworld Galleria, Ortigas Avenue, Quezon City. The festival will showcase about 50 international and local movies, including indie and award-winning films previously shown in festivals such as Cannes, Berlin, Rotterdam, Sundance, and Pusan. 2. SEE THE WINNERS OF AMERICA’S BEST DANCE CREW.

Watch America's Best Dance Crew (ABDC) Season 3 winner Quest Crew live in Manila from December 3 to 5. The concert will be a homecoming of sorts for the group’s  Pinoy members Aris Paracuelles, Daniel Ryan "Ryanimay" Conferido, Dominic "D-Trix" Sandoval, and Brian Hirano. They will be joined by Young JV, 23rd Awit Awards Best New Performer of the Year; Amber Davis, Urban Music Awards Best Female RnB artist; and Philippine All Stars, 2006 and 2008 winners of World Hip Hop Dance Championships. 3. WATCH KAOS HAPPEN ONSTAGE.

Watch Kaos featuring the Manila Symphony Orchestra at Resorts World Manila, Newport Boulevard, Newport City Cybertourism Zone, Pasay City starting December 1. Kaos tells the classic adventure of a handsome prince, a beautiful maiden, and an interfering advisor, and set in a historical castle  where a song solves a problem, a dance lifts a mood, and the never ending search for true love prevails. 4. SEE WHAT THE BUZZ IS ABOUT AT MONDOMANILA FILMFEST MOTHERF%*+ERS!Catch Khavn De La Cruz’s film titled Mondomanila at the Mondomanila FilmFest Motherf%*#ers! from December 1 to 4 at the Cine Adarna, UP Film Institute, University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City. Mondomanila or How I Fixed My Hair After A Rather Long Journey is Khavn’s latest masterpiece. It’s an adaptation of Norman Wilwayco’s triple-Palanca-winning novel (2002), short story (2000), and screenplay (2003). The film will have six screenings at the festival. A forum on the relevance of the Metro Manila Film Festival dubbed MMFF vs MFMF! will also be held on December 1, 4 p.m. at the UP Film Center.

5. SHOP ’TIL YOU DROP.

Don’t miss the Christmas Tinsel Bazaar from December 3 to 5, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Nuvo City, Libis (along Libis Avenue, beside Shopwise). Activities include a live appearance and photo op with Santa Claus, photobooth, games for kids, hourly raffle draws, free gift wrapping services, and live performances. 6. CATCH A CLASSIC CHRISTMAS TALE.

Catch Ballet Manila’s The Nutcracker from December 3 to 5 and 11 to 12 at the Aliw Theater, CCP Complex, Roxas Blvd., Pasay City. For the first time, prima ballerina Lisa Macuja will be sharing centerstage in a full-length ballet with her 12-year-old daughter Michelle Elizabeth "Missy" Elizalde as the latter makes her debut in the role of Little Masha. The Nutcracker tells the story of  a little girl named Masha, whose generous spirit on Christmas Eve transports her to a magical land of giant dolls and nutcrackers, dancing snowflakes, and the Sugar Plum Fairy. 7. EAT, DRINK, AND SHOP LIKE THE GERMANS DO.

Be at Weihnachtsmarkt, the second annual German Christmas Market on December 3, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Ateneo de Manila University Cervini Quad in Quezon City. The market will feature food items, special goods, art, and other cultural activities. 8. RUN FOR FUN.

Be a part of Immuvit’s Run Against Time - Meta Fit Run on December 4, 4 p.m. at Bonifacio High Street, Taguig City. The event, which is the fourth leg of Immuvit’s Run Against Time campaign, features a fun run and a lecture by Coach Jim Saret on how to manage the signs of somatopause (slowdown of metabolism and increased weight gain). The first 100 registrants will get a free running singlet.

 

9. SHOP ART AT BAZAART.

Drop by Christmas BazaART which runs until December 24 at Galeria OneWorkshop, Suite 324 LRI Design Plaza, Nicanor Garcia St. (Reposo), Bel Air II, Makati City. Paintings, sculptures, photographs, mixed media, and prints on sale for as low as P5,000 up to P30,000. This is for the benefit of the Hospicio de San Jose Infant Ward. 10. GET FIT FOR A CAUSE.

Join Run for Spec, an awareness fun run for children with special needs, on December 5, 6 a.m. at the Quezon City Memorial Circle (Runnex Area).
