Who wants to go on an adventure...for free?
The only catch is you have to be in college
(SPOT.ph) College students, get your cameras ready. You have until May 2 (that's tomorrow) to make your case and prove that you are the team to beat this year. What are we talking about? Two words: Free. Trips.
Your adventure coaches: Joyce Pring, Champ Lui Pio, and Iya Villania-Arellano, plus Bogart the Explorer and Jude Bacalso
Now on its fourth year, Cebu Pacific's Juan for Fun Backpacker Challenge is a quiet bonanza (if there is such a thing) involving flights to various local destinations where five groups of three college students take on the challenge of having as much fun as possible. You go around the country, trying out the best local cuisine and learning more about our culture—plus feeling like you're in Amazing Race while you complete special challenges.
There are, of course, caveats. The organizers aren't going to make you jump off from the plane (Charlie's Angels, anyone?) and let you run wild and free. Safety is of the utmost importance and learning is right below it.
Juan for Fun Alumni, sharing their experiences. We'll sum it up: It was life-changing and they had crazy amounts of fun
The competition is open to all college students, 18 to 23 years old, of varying character types. This isn't just for those consumed by wanderlust—this is for travel virgins, too. If you've never been on a plane before, now's your chance. It's an opportunity, ahem, to grow as a person and gain offline life points!
Log on to the Juan for Fun website to read the full mechanics, but to start you off, you'll first need to make a video that answers the question, "What makes you the team to beat in this year's Juan for Fun?" Be creative and make sure the video captures whatever makes you you. Challenge accepted?
