Weekend Escape: Adventure Farm at Timberland Heights, San Mateo
Go back to nature!
(SPOT.ph) If your kid, niece, nephew, or inaanak thinks that a chicken naturally looks like that dressed one from the supermarket or that vegetables grow in the produce section, take them to Adventure Farm in Timberland Heights, San Mateo.
Located next to the main gate of Timberland Heights, this six-hectare farm is the most fun place to teach kids (and adults) about nature. The farm is divided into several parts: the Chicken Chums, Veggie Valley, Fish Frenzy, Butterfly Buddies, and Tree Troop.
Adventure Farm at Timberland Heights welcomes every guest with bold, happy colors!
Inspired by the local bahay kubo, The Farm Shop is where guests can buy fresh organic eggs, fruits, herbs, and cute stuffed toys. This is also where you can pay for freshly-picked produce or butterflies you'd like to adopt as pets.
Some of Adventure Farm’s stuffed crew: Manny Pakwan, Mais Ganda, Jessica Saging, and Buko Martin
Adventure Farm also sells organic eggs for P6 to P8 each, depending on the size.
Kids get up close and personal with the fish at ‘It’s a Fish Frenzy.’ Feeding fish is allowed!
Adventure Farm also has a butterfly farm where kids of all ages can learn about the stages of a butterfly’s life. The butterfly in its larva stage. The butterfly in its chrysalis form. Butterflies are all around and if you’re lucky, they’ll actually land on you. They also grow corn.

Pinakbet ingredients are all grown together.
They also have a greenhouse where they grow their more delicate produce, like lettuce.
At Chicken Chums, anyone can go in and pet the chickens. Most kids tend to chase after them too! Poor birds!
If you’re one who doesn’t like these slimy creatures, Worm World will open your eyes to the wonders of worms. The experts will show you how they make fertilizers for the farm.
One of the slimy yet crafty creatures! Fertilizers (which are made in-house) sold at the farm shop cost P30 for each 250-gram bag.
