Matthew Quick, That Thing Called Tadhana the novel + more reasons to get excited about the Philippine Literary Festival 2015

It's all about books at Raffles Makati from August 28 to 30. Admission is free!


( The first Philippine Literary Festival brought us closer to Amy Tan and Chang-rae Lee, much to the delight of their respective fans. For a second helping, National Bookstore and Raffles Makati are bringing in Matthew Quick (The Silver Linings Playbook and The Good Luck of Right Now) and Meg Wolitzer (The Interestings and The Ten-Year Nap) to inspire a new generation of writers to keep sharing stories. Block off August 28 to 30 on your calendar and celebrate the awesomeoness of reading. 




The second Philippine Literary Festival (PLF) will also see the launch of the novelization of the hit movie That Thing Called Tadhana, with a screening of the film on August 29 (10 a.m.). The lineup of activities also includes panel discussions on Novel Writing Today featuring Marivi Soliven, Beyond Bakla: Writing a Post-Acceptance Voice in the Pre-Acceptance Philippines, Taking Romance Into A New Level: The Experience of Writing Erotic Romance, How to Write a Baby Book in 8 Sentences, and How Do We Write Sex Today? Plus, find out if flash fiction is really fiction.


Make time for Venus Retrograde: A Poetry Reading Session with Kooky Tuason, Marty Tengco, Monique Obligacion, Charms Tianzon, and more on August 29 (6 p.m.). PLF also continues to support the local comics artists, with an exhibit, a book signing, a Komikero panel, plus a live reading Komiks: A Live-Reading and Conversation on the books and its industry with Rob Cham and Josel Nicolas on August 30 at 3:30 p.m.
