6 Magical New Reasons to Visit Hong Kong Disneyland
Going for a quick getaway during the holidays? Here's a quick look at what's new: Tsum Tsums, Frozen, Inside Out, and more!
(SPOT.ph) If you’re planning to visit Hong Kong soon, you might want to take a break from shopping and make a stopover at Hong Kong Disneyland. The theme park is currently celebrating their 10th Anniversary, and in true Disney fashion, it will surely give you a magical experience—no matter how old you are! To celebrate, they’ve launched a couple of exciting new attractions that will really make you feel like a kid again.
There's a new attraction in Disney’s Storybook Theater in Fantasyland.
Hong Kong Disneyland launched a brand new attraction for their 10th anniversary entitled "Mickey and the Wondrous Book." It’s a large-scale production musical that tells the greatest Disney stories in seven short tales. The 28-minute stage show begins when Mickey Mouse and Goofy discover a wondrous book in the library, where they meet Olaf who is lost and needs to get back to where it's wintry or else he will melt. As they help him find his way back home, the stories of your favorite Disney characters unfold. Expect to see your favorite characters from The Jungle Book, The Little Mermaid, Tangled, Brave, Aladdin, The Princess and the Frog, and of course, Frozen!
The 10th Anniversary theme song is performed by Filipino cast members.
The Filipino presence is strong in Hong Kong Disneyland. From their Musical Director Rony Fortich and cast members Gian Magdangal and Raki Vera—the power trio worked hand-in-hand in the production of Hong Kong Disneyland's 10th Anniversary theme song, “Happily Ever After,” which they perform as part of the “Mickey and the Wondrous Book” show and play throughout the theme park.
They have a dazzling Frozen-themed Tree Lighting Ceremony.
Catch Queen Elsa use her magical powers to light up a tree as they perform the LSS-inducing theme song “Let It Go” along Main Street, U.S.A. Pay attention to the spectacular projections that are shown in both sides of the street to really feel the magic in the air. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Frozen experience without "snow" falling all around!
There's a brand new fireworks show.
As if Hong Kong Disneyland's fireworks shows weren't magical enough, they were determined to put on an awe-inspiring fireworks show for their 10th year entitled "Disney in the Stars." It uses cutting-edge technology, lighting effects, and an all-new video projection choreographed with the dazzling fireworks that light up the beautiful Sleeping Beauty Castle—adding even more magic to your Disneyland experience. Expect to see Joy and Sadness from Inside Out, Nemo and Dory from Finding Nemo, and Hiro and Baymax from Big Hero Six projected on the castle.
They have 10th Anniversary dishes that are too cute to eat.
We don’t even have to explain why. Just look at those dim sum Tsum Tsums!
You can stay in themed rooms.
When in Disneyland, you go all out. It doesn’t matter how old you are. Deep down, you still want to become a princess—and you can experience being one in Hong Kong Disneyland’s themed rooms! When staying at Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel, all you have to do is add P6,680 so you can have a themed room (yup, you can have a Frozen-themed room!). This means your room will be decorated with a door sticker, window sticker, and a bed runner plus you get to bring home slippers, a greeting card, balloons, a beach towel, a luggage belt, a tote bag and a Mickey plush!
There is WiFi throughout the park.
Now you can add snaps to your Snapchat story, live tweet your experience meeting with your favorite Disney character, or even Skype with relatives who are in the Philippines, and Instagram your theme park OOTD anytime you want. Now that's what we call magic.
