Go on a Fun Tour Around Intramuros on These Colorful Pedicabs

It's a new DOT venture!

(SPOT.ph) Intramuros, a.k.a. the Walled City, in Manila is best explored by foot; but if your feet would rather relax, then there's also the option of availing the services of the Department of Tourism's new set of 10 tourist-friendly pedicabs. Each three-wheeled ride is spruced up with tarp roofs designed by the Department of Trade and Industry's Design Center of the Philippines as part of the eighth edition of Design Week Philippines, which happened from October 14 to 22 at various venues in Intramuros in Manila.

The designs were inspired by the Walled City's Seven Gates and rendered using the bright orange colors of the Intramuros Administration. In a statement, the Department of Tourism (DOT) revealed that they "provided training for the first drivers on tour guiding, courtesy, road safety and how to attend to the needs of the public." Soon, more trained drivers in spruced up pedicabs will be all over Intramuros to cater to more local and foreign tourists.
