Celebrate Christmas the French Way at This Free Party
Have a mini French holiday in the city!
(SPOT.ph) Did you know that in France, kids don’t hang stockings? Instead, they put their shoes by the fire for Santa Claus to fill with little trinkets. The French also love their dessert—and by that we mean that they feast on 13 sweet dishes on Christmas Eve. Unless you’re spending the holidays in Paris or the French Riviera, we recommend going to Christmas Night: The Francophone Way on December 11, 6:30 p.m. at Alliance Française de Manille in Makati City for a memorable pre-Christmas party.
While you’re there, you can also catch an 8:30 p.m. screening of the 2013 French film La Belle Vie (The Good Life). Directed by Jean Denizot, it follows the life of Yves who is in hiding with his two sons Sylvain and Pierre after losing custody.
Whether you’re a Francophile or just genuinely curious about other cultures, it’s shaping up to be a night of fun and learning. You might even meet new friends. So brush up on your French phrases and give yourself the gift of culture this Christmas. We’re hoping there will be mulled wine and apple pie!
Christmas Night: The Francophone Way is on December 11, 6:30 p.m. at Bernardo Sim Hall, 4/F Alliance Française de Manille, 209 Nicanor Garcia Street, Makati City.
