(SPOT.ph) Metro Manila, in the evening of March 12, was declared to be under "community quarantine" amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Plus "land, domestic air, and domestic sea travel to and from Metro Manila shall be suspended" from March 15 to April 14, according to Resolution No. 11 prepared by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Diseases. So what happens if you have a planned trip, whether for business or leisure, within the mentioned dates? Local airlines and ferry services have released guidelines for refunds and/or rebooking.
Here's what you need to do if your upcoming flights and trips just got canceled:
In an advisory released on March 13, 9 p.m. , the flag carrier announced that all domestic flighs to and from Manila, from March 15 to 21 are canceled. Status of domestic flights from March 21 to April 14 is still dependendent on day-to-day government assessment. Passengers of affected flights can avail any of these options:
- Rebook to a new travel date after April 14 with rebooking fees waived
- Place the unused value of their ticket into a voucher for future travel use
- Choose another route on the same fare class without rerouting charges. Fare difference rules apply.
If you purchased your tickets directly through Philippine Airlines (PAL), you can visit the PAL ticketing office nearest you or call (02) 8855-8888. For tickets issued by travel agents, it's best to contact your travel agency.
The advisory added that there are will be extra flights from Manila to Tagbilaran, to Tacloban, to Iloilo, to Zamboanga, to Bacolod; and vice versa on March 14. PAL will also "maintain [their] domestic flights between other points in the Philippines and other domestic hubs" like Cebu and Clark.

Cebu Pacific, in a post made on March 13, 8:45 p.m., announced that all domestic flights to and from Manila are canceled from March 15 to April 14. But international flights from Manila to selected destinations as well as services from Clark and Cebu shall continue.
Passengers on canceled flights can choose from these options:
- Travel ahead of their original schedule on flights until March 14, free of charge
- Rebook the flight, with change fees and fare difference waived
- Store the full value of the ticket in a Travel Fund, which you can use within 180 days and use for bookings within 12 months. To avail of the Travel Fund service, log in through the Manage Booking portal on Cebu Pacific's website. Just enter your booking reference number and surname. Choose 'Cancel Flight,' and the cost will immediately be refunded through the virtual wallet.
- Get a full refund
Passengers on all Cebu Pacific flights until April 30 can also rebook with waived change fee, but still pay for fare difference. There's also the option to put the full cost in a Travel Fund.
In addition, new flights booked from March 10 to April 30 (regardless of travel date and route) can avail of CEB Flexi for free. This add-on lets you rebook your flight twice without fees.

SkyJet Airlines is suspending flights from Manila to Coron and Siargao from March 15 to April 14, while flights from Manila to Batanes are suspended from March 15 to April 16. The additional two days for the latter is due to Batanes' declaration of a province-wide quarantine.
All affected passengers can rebook their flights without penalties (but subject to fare difference) to new travel dates after the suspension. They also have the option to get a full refund, with the refund fee waived.

As of March 13, 1 p.m., AirAsia is canceling all domestic flights to and from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila from March 15 to April 14. Guests affected by this travel restriction can choose from the following flight options:
- Move your flight to a new travel date on the same route within 90 calendar days without additional cost
- Keep the value of your fare in your AirAsia BIG Loyalty account and use it for booking within 365 calendar days from the issuance date

The latest advisory from the passenger ferry company, posted on March 13, 7:30 a.m., indicated that voyages to and from Manila from March 15 are canceled. However, government advisories are monitored on a daily basis and 2Go Travel may resume normal operations once clearance is provided. Passengers may rebook tickets to other available departure dates or opt for a refund.
