You Can Take an Online Masterclass in Cooking From Margarita Fores + More
They start this week!
(SPOT.ph) It’s no secret that Filipinos have been known to travel specifically to eat, and Singapore is one destination that can always be counted on to deliver when it comes to gastronomic adventures. This year, with most of the world staying put, the annual Singapore Food Festival is going to be a little different but no less exciting—especially for fledging home cooks. A few of Southeast Asia’s well-known chefs are coming together to teach a masterclass in cooking, Cibo’s Margarita Fores among them.
Titled 2Fast, 2Delicious - Hokks and Clay, the online masterclass will feature Fores together with Chef Ming Tan of Jam at Siri House as they prepare two quintessentially Singaporean dishes: Hokkien mee and claypot rice. The two chefs are expected to share “their own personal flavor secrets” during the online session, which you can view through Facebook Live on the Singapore Food Festival’s page on August 22 at 7 p.m. Feel like cooking along with the chefs? You can participate by ordering kits designed for the virtual “cook-along.”
“The 2Fast, 2Delicious - Hokks and Clay class is specially curated for Filipino foodies and we hope that the session will allow Filipino foodies to enjoy Singaporean cuisine from the comfort and safety of their own homes,” shares Ruby Liu, the tourism board’s area director for the Philippines. An online masterclass titled Holy Crab: Supper Treats is also scheduled for August 21 at 9:30 p.m. Both classes are part of a series of events being held by the Singapore Tourism Board from August 21 to 30.
