Filipino literature comes to life in Ballet Philippines' twin bill of Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo. Catch Cristostomo Ibarra and Simoun from October 21 to 23 at the CCP Main Theater. Crisostomo Ibarra follows Jose Rizal's character as he is buffeted by the cruel winds of his fate and yet strives to remain standing tall in his ideals. His romance with Maria Clara is danced in a production that strips bare the epic story and enters his psychological world. Meanwhile, Simoun follows the transformation and succeeding actions of El Filibusterismo’s protagonist, the formerly optimistic Crisostomo Ibarra into Simoun, the cynical revolutionary out to spark a change in the society. Ticket prices start at P309.
