Have a Sashimi Party, Score Sneakers on Sale + More Weekend Things to Do

And some things to bring and find on your next grocery run.

(SPOT.ph) What do you know, we're halfway through the month! The past week also marked our collective "regularization" in community quarantine, so half of the year was mostly spent indoors as we wait for better days ahead. And while heading out is something that's reserved for important errands, the best we can do is find some fun things to do at home.

A few of our recommendations for a worthwhile weekend:

Catch a K-Drama that is all about chasing after dreams.

If you're looking for a new K-Drama to get started on, let the Parks liven up your screens with Record of Youth. The show stars Park Bo Gum as Sa Hye Jun, a model who wants to be an actor and Park So Dam (yes, as in "Jessica, only child, Illinois, Chicago") as aspiring makeup artist Ahn Jeong Ha. The drama revolves around young adults with big dreams who find themselves in the competitive world of entertainment while juggling relationships. Does that sound familiar?

Have a sashimi party at home.

The weekend calls for a celebration, so how about you treat yourself with fresh sashimi? Santino's Seafoods offers the Trio Sashimi Platter, which has tuna, salmon, and uni in one huge platter that's good for sharing. The 750-gram platter comes with 630 grams of mixed sashimi and 120 grams of uni for P1,100, while the 1.12-kilo platter has an entire kilo of mixed sashimi and 120 grams of uni for P1,600. All orders come with wasabi, Kikkoman, and chopsticks. Their shop can be found at Farmer's Market in Cubao, but no need to head out because they deliver. Best part? They have their own riders so you don't have to worry about booking a courier!

Do a banana-milk taste-test.

We've seen far too many K-Dramas to not be at least intrigued by this flavored milk drink. Binggrae is a popular brand in South Korea with its creamy take on the flavored milk drink, and it's available here in tetra packs (P284.75/pack of six 200-ml boxes). If you want your banana milk less sweet, go for Cowhead (P90.75/pack of three 200-ml boxes). Check out our roadtest to help you decide what to get. (Or you know... just get both!)

Add this item to cart...literally.

We think this might be every quarantine tribute's must-have: The SafeGrocer Protective Grocery Handle Cover (P150/30 sheets) by PostScript Designs functions as a disposable handle wrap and as a shopping list! No more cart handle disinfection rituals before getting started on shopping for essentials. Plus, you won't have to bring out your phone, which is yet another item to disinfect. Each piece has a self-adhesive surface on the back so that it doesn't fall from the cart handle. Cool stuff!

Check out this "sleeping pill."

If you're having trouble falling asleep, give Inka Magnaye's podcast a listen. Sleeping Pill with Inka is a meditative-slash-ASMR-podcast where she reads short snippets of poems and books in her soothing voice. We aren't even surprised by how relaxing she sounds as she reads; after all, she is a host and a professional voice-over talent. And in case you've been living under a rock, she went viral when she posted a video of her and her mom alternating the Philippine Airlines' in-flight advisory spiels. Fun fact: Her mom used to do the PAL announcements (which she bagged in a blind audition; the folks who hired her only discovered she was the daughter of the former voice-over talent when she got the job) while her aunt did the voiceover for MTRCB's ratings advisory
