(SPOT.ph) We see you, Andok’s. And not in the creepy, stalker way—more in the “we've noticed you've been quietly wandering off the path of comfort of inihaw for a while now” way. First came the Dokibab, your kebab-inspired detour to the Middle East. Now you’ve hopped even farther East and landed in Japan.

The latest plot twist on the menu? Shrimpura.

Andok's launches Shrimpura on the menu

While we've always known Andok's for all the smoked meats—inihaw na baboy, manok, even isda—this time around they're going deep-fried. Give a warm welcome to the Shrimpura. Its portmanteau name isn’t exactly referring to it being a shrimp tempura (even though it is), but it comes from their tagline, “ang shrimp na mura" or "cheap shrimp." Honestly, we couldn't help but want to call it Chrimp or Shreamp—but Shrimpura is definitely catchier, right?

Each order comes with three pieces of Shrimpura, each lightly breaded so the shrimp doesn’t get lost under all that crunch; they're paired with a sweet dipping sauce and, naturally, white rice. At P130, it lives up to the “mura” promise, because tempura is rarely considered petsa de peligro-friendly.

The tiny twist? For now, Shrimpura is available only in select branches and exclusively for dine-in or takeout. No deliveries yet, which somehow makes it feel like you'll have to go on a treasure hunt for hidden golden, deep-fried treasure. Either way, we say add it to your order list the next time you're at an Andok's.
