Good News: Ijo Bakery's First Metro Manila Branch is Now Open

(SPOT.ph) Southies, you're in for a treat: You can now finally get your croissant fix from Lipa’s beloved bakery without making the long drive to Batangas!

Ijo Bakery has officially opened its first Metro Manila branch in Alabang, making its freshly baked and perfectly flaky croissants and other sought-after pastries more accessible to customers in Metro Manila.

Ijo Bakery's first Metro Manila branch is located in Molito Lifestyle Center in Alabang, with landmarks near Beef Bar and Watson's. Currently, the bakery is in its trial operation phase, welcoming patrons daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. to grab a bag of perfectly laminated viennoiserie and other irresistible baked treats.

Ijo Bakery was founded by Lipeño pastry chef Joaquin Katigbak during the pandemic. Even as an online-only business, the bakery quickly won over food lovers in Lipa and nearby areas with its high-quality viennoiserie, a category of baked goods that, according to Le Cordon Bleu, serves as the bridge between pâtisserie and French bread.

As demand continued to grow, Ijo Bakery opened its first brick-and-mortar store in Lipa. It quickly became a must-visit destination for travelers heading to Batangas, so, naturally, they broadened their reach by opening branches in Batangas City and Sta. Rosa, Laguna. Then, toward the end of 2025, the bakery hinted that it was preparing to make its Metro Manila debut.

After months of teasing, that plan has finally come to fruition with the recent opening of its first branch in Alabang. Ijo Bakery shared that there are currently no officially announced branch-exclusive items at the Molito Lifestyle Center branch, but customers can still look forward to its well-loved signature selection. A grand opening is also in the works, set to happen soon.
