(SPOT.ph) In the world of chicken sandwiches, KFC's Double Down is one that dials the concept up to 11. Swapping bread for two fried chicken fillets sounds almost obvious in hindsight, but it quickly became one of fast food's most iconic creations.
Now that the Double Down is back on the menu, KFC is taking the "no buns" idea even further, giving fans more ways to enjoy the sandwich that never cared much for buns in the first place anyway.
Cheat Sheet: 3 KFC Double Down Hacks

From Double Down to Triple Down
If (for understandable reasons that deserve no judgment) you need more chicken than a Double Down, you can do the obvious hack of buying two Double Downs to make a Triple Down. You can build this in these simple steps:
Remove the middle layers of cheese and bacon.
Stack the two middle layers around one chicken patty.
Sandwich this in between two of the remaining chicken patties, and brace for meatier impact!
Give it a bit of heat
If you want a bit of spice, you can opt for a combo with the Zinger Double Down. This hack uses the same foundation of two Double Downs—but this time, it's specifically one each of the Original Double Down and Zinger Double Down. Here's how to do it:
Remove the patties from both Double Downs. You can stack patties for the heft, or stick to one patty, which lets the heat shine through more.
Sandwich it between a patty from the Original Double Down and the other, a patty from the Zinger Double Down.
Wrap your Double Down
Aside from the temptation of eating a Double Down with rice, you can also wrap it like a burrito. This hack requires a Double Down, a flour tortilla, and an optional toothpick to hold it all together. The simple and easy hack can be done through these steps:
Unwrap the Double Down and place it on the center of a tortilla.
Fold in the left and right sides of the tortilla, as if tucking the Double Down in a tortilla blanket.
Roll the tortilla from the bottom to the top.
Insert the toothpick in the center, making sure it punctures the chicken and tortilla. (Or use your hands to hold it all together, because what's life without a little risk?)
You have limited time to try these Double Down hacks and experiment with it your own way. KFC's Double Down is available starting July 14 to August 17. This is available in all KFC stores nationwide.
