(SPOT.ph) In case you missed it, it’s not only dining establishments that earned Michelin recognition this year—hotels made the cut too, including the Michelin-listed Manila Marriott Hotel. The distinction signals how the Michelin Guide’s standards now extend beyond what’s plated on the table, putting equal weight on the overall travel and hospitality experience.
What makes it more interesting, though, is that the recognition doesn’t stop at the hotel level—its own dining venues also carry Michelin-linked credibility. In recent weeks, the property has doubled down with a series of collaborations and limited-time experiences, from a buffet led by a Bib Gourmand–awarded chef to unlimited craft beer and oyster pairings—and then some more.

Cru Steakhouse Now Serves Steaks and Oyster for Sunday Lunch

The hotel’s Michelin-selected Cru Steakhouse kicked off its new Sunday lunch service with a three-course dinner last April 16, centered on two things people rarely complain about: steaks and oysters. The new lunch offering gives diners another reason to linger a little longer over the weekend, with signature salads and soups, fresh oysters sourced from France, premium steak cuts, and wine pairings that make Sunday a little less rushed.
Sinagtala Famsgiving Buffet Dinner with Chef Miguel Moreno

Doubling its Michelin accreditation, the Michelin-listed Manila Marriott Hotel invited two-time Michelin Bib Gourmand chef Miguel Moreno to take over the kitchens during its Sinagtala Program. If you were ever on a Michelin food crawl(still are), Moreno was awarded two Michelin Bib Gourmands, one for Palm Grill in Quezon City, and the other for Cabel in Manila.
For Manila Marriott Hotel at Newport World Resort, Moreno prepared a special feast called the "Sinagtala Famsgiving Buffet Dinner," highlighting cuisine from Southern Mindanao (Zamboanga, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi, or ZamBaSulTa), where his roots are tied to. He prepared Tausug staples like the following:
Tiyula Itum (think bulalo but with a smokier profile)
Tinuanan (fresh pomelo and mango salad with Tausug dressing)
Beef Kurma (a curry with a mild kick)
Sambal Istah (deep-fried maya-maya with spicy sauce)
Belachan Manuk (grilled chicken breast marinated in aromatics and spices, served with Kyuning or turmeric rice)
Bang Bang Sug (assortment of Tausug native cakes and pastries)
The Sinagtala Famsgiving Buffet Dinner is priced at P3,399 net per person. This is available on all Wednesdays and Thursdays of April and May 2026.
