After Decades, Tagaytay's Iconic Mushroomburger Moves Out of Its OG Spot
This move marks the end of an era, as it bids farewell to its original home since the late 1970s.

Long before Tagaytay became a bustling destination filled with trendy cafés and restaurants, there were already a handful of dining spots that defined the city's food scene. Among them was Mushroomburger, a beloved roadside restaurant that generations of travelers made a point to include in their itinerary whenever they drove up to Tagaytay.
In a Facebook post published on July 9, Mushroomburger announced that it's closing its OG spot, which had served as the company's headquarters since it transferred its farm and operations to Tagaytay in 1978.
But not to worry, Mushroomburger is opening in a new location!
Mushroomburger opens new location in Tagaytay
Fans of Mushroomburger can head on over to the burger joint's new home at KM 60, Brgy. Kaybagal South, Aguinaldo Highway, Tagaytay City. Located directly in front of Taal Vista Hotel, the new three-storey, fully air-conditioned branch features a more modern design and welcomes diners daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The move may be new, but the story behind its signature burger remains unchanged. Diners can still enjoy the same well-loved menu, featuring favorites such as the MB Royal (P174), MB King (P199), MB Regular with Cheese (P131), and Mix Mushroomburger (P206), along with chicken and noodle dishes, rice meals, and dessert.
The Mushroomburger was born from an unexpected conversation with a customer, who remarked that mushrooms were more expensive than beef in his home country and joked that mushrooms would make an even better burger. Inspired by the comment, the restaurant turned that idea into reality, creating the iconic Mushroomburger that would become a beloved part of countless Tagaytay road trips for many Filipinos.
It’s no surprise, then, that news of the original branch's closure was met with an outpouring of nostalgic reactions from longtime customers who had frequented the restaurant over the years, with some of them looking back on the memories they had made there with their loved ones. While the original location has closed its doors, Mushroomburger's story is far from over—the iconic Tagaytay stop has simply found a new address, ready to welcome a new generation of diners while serving the same burger that made it a destination in the first place.
