After 32 Years, Old Swiss Inn Bids Farewell to Its Makati Branch

(SPOT.ph) Restaurants come and go, and if you've been in the business for years, you become a part of people’s lives. And for over three decades, Old Swiss Inn Restaurant in Makati has been a staple in the lives of Makati’s corporate warriors, residents, and night owls —the go-to for dates and celebrating life's milestones, and even just because of a craving for European food past midnight.

Unfortunately, Old Swiss Inn Restaurant's Makati branch is coming to an end after 32 years. The branch located in Somerset Olympia, along Makati Avenue, is closing its doors in two months time.

In a recent announcement, the restaurant described the move to close the Makati branch as the end of a 32-year chapter shaped by “family celebrations, cozy dinners, and lasting memories.” For longtime patrons, there’s still a small window to squeeze in one or three visits—the Makati branch will continue service for two more months, with its final day set on July 1.

To mark its final two months in Makati, Old Swiss Inn has something in store for Signature Moments Cardholders, starting from May 1 to July 1. The promo will include rewards and surprises, giving its customers a trip down memory lane.

The closure, however, doesn’t signal a full goodbye to Old Swiss Inn. The restaurant will continue operations at its Old Swiss Inn Restaurant branch in Paco, Manila. So while Makati regulars will have to say goodbye to a familiar address, they can always go to the OG branch for another serving of the famous Goulash, Housemade Corned Beef, Gnagi, and all the fondue.

Old Swiss Inn also hinted at plans to expand, noting that it is exploring new locations to reach more people. So if you can't go to the Makati branch before it closes, and if the Manila branch is too far, you can always hope the next address opens a little closer to home.
