FIRST LOOK: Serenitea’s Independence Day Menu Puts Ube and Matcha + Yema in the Spotlight

(SPOT.ph) Just in time for Independence Day, Serenitea is launching a limited-edition Ube at Yema collection on June 12. The new drinks take familiar merienda staples and give them the milk tea and latte treatment—because if there's one thing that holds absolute truth: Filipinos (and the rest of the world) never seem to tire of ube and nostalgia.

At the center of the lineup is ube, the unmistakably Filipino flavor that has spent the last few years conquering dessert menus both here and abroad. Serenitea doubles down on the purple crop's popularity with the Ube Panalo (P199), a mix of brown sugar, fresh milk, pearls for its sinkers, and a generous layer of ube cream on top. For those who need their afternoon pick-me-up with a caffeine kick, the Kape Ube Supreme (P170) is the "dirtier" or caffeinated version that turns the drink into an iced latte with ube cream.

Then there's the Matcha Mais Yema (P175), perhaps the most unexpected drink in the collection. While matcha may be worlds away from Filipino merienda, it's so popular among Filipinos that it's become a mainstay in most drink menus. Serenitea gives the Japanese favorite a distinctly Pinoy spin by pairing it with sweet corn and yema sourced from Pan de Manila, creating a drink that feels both familiar and surprisingly new.

Available from June 12 to August 12, 2026, Serenitea's Ube at Yema collection will be offered at participating Serenitea branches nationwide for dine-in, takeout, and delivery.
