Everything You Need to Know About the 'After Oz' Concert This July

(SPOT.ph)Broadway stars Lissa DeGuzman and Allie Trimm—best known for their stint as Elphaba and Glinda in Wicked, among many other acclaimed stage credits—are set to take the stage at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater for a two-show concert this July.

Dubbed After Oz with Wicked on Broadway’s Lissa De Guzman and Allie Trimm, this musical theater performance is for those of us who have not gotten over the Wicked fever, or are a huge musical theater nerd looking for their Broadway fix right here in Metro Manila. After Oz is officially locked in for two performances on Friday, July 10—the originally scheduled 7:30 p.m. show and an additional matinee performance at 2 p.m. The high-profile production is a major part of the celebrations for Samsung Performing Arts Theater’s fourth anniversary. It is presented by Ayala Land in partnership with Theatre Group Asia, the folks who brought us 2025's Into the Woods and 2026's A Chorus Line.

The show is directed by Mikko Angeles, with musical direction by Farley Asuncion, choreography by JM Cabling, set design by Ohm David, lighting design by Meliton Roxas, and visual projections by Justin Santiago.

Expect the show to be full of Broadway numbers, moving original compositions, and reimagined pop anthems—all brought to life with a touch of Oz-magic through immersive visuals and theatrical design. As of writing, tickets for the 7 p.m. show are sold out. But, before you wallow in FOMO, you'll be glad to know that tickets to the newly added 2 p.m. show will be up for grabs starting on June 17 at 10 a.m. Based on how fast the tickets for the first show sold out, we recommend visiting the Ticketworld website (their official ticketing partner) as soon as tickets become available.

All this musical theater magic will be brought to us by none other than two performers who brought Elphaba and Glinda to life on Broadway. Fil-Am thespian Lissa De Guzman, who not only played Elphaba in Wicked on Broadway back in 2022 but also recently starred in TGA's A Chorus Line as Cassie. Apart from A Chorus Line and Wicked, De Guzman also performed in shows like King Kong, Legally Blonde, Waitress, West Side Story, the touring production of Aladdin, and more.

She will be joined on stage by her stage partner, Allie Trimm. Aside from portraying the bubbly, good witch Glinda, the San Diego native has also appeared in productions such as 13 The Musical as Patrice, Kim MacAfee in Bye Bye Birdie, and in an off-Broadway production of Les Misérables, among other theater roles.

Joining the two powerhouse divas is another TGA performer, Asia’s Phoenix Morissette. ICYDK, the singer is slated to return to the theater stage this September as middle Allie in The Notebook The Musical.

All this is in celebration of four years since the opening of the Samsung Performing Arts Theater, which has since hosted theater shows and concerts, including Mula Sa Buwan, Into the Woods, A Chorus Line, Frozen in Concert, Request sa Radyo, and many more.

“After Oz is a one-night-only concert experience that reflects Samsung Performing Arts Theater’s commitment to building audiences, activating creative spaces, and establishing Circuit Makati as a destination for culture, performance, and artistic exchange that bring communities together,” the venue's official announcement stated.
