(SPOT.ph) It's official--we're down to the last month of 2025. The past 11 months have been filled with shows and concerts, both brought to life by local talents and international stars. December is no different and like always, we're listing down all the performances and shows you can catch to end your year with a bang. It's been a great 12 months of applause and singing along and we hope to see you again next year for more shows!

Where: Newport Performing Arts Theater

Shrek the Musical brings everyone’s favorite swamp-dwelling ogre to the stage in a big, bold, and hilariously heartfelt production. Based on the beloved DreamWorks film (and the original book by William Steig), this two-act musical features over 25 original songs and weaves in familiar moments from Shrek 2 and Shrek Forever After.

This Manila staging stars Jamie Wilson as Shrek, Krystal Kane as Princess Fiona, Topper Fabregas as Donkey, and Alfredo Reyes as Lord Farquaad.

Update: The show has been extended to December 21.

Gregoria Lakambini shines a spotlight on the extraordinary life of Gregoria de Jesus, told through the riveting vocals and swagger of a P-Pop Girl Group. From a young woman in Caloocan to the revered “Lakambini of the Katipunan,” the musical traces Oryang’s rise as she stands beside Andres Bonifacio in love, revolution, and unwavering conviction.

History-meets-theater in this Tanghalang Pilipino musical starring Marynor Madamesila as Gregoria De Jesus. Written by Nicanor Tiongson and Eljay Castro Deldo, music by Nica Del Rosario, Matthew Chang, and Flip Music, and directed by Delphine Buencamino.

Where: REP Eastwood Theater

Adapted for the stage with music and lyrics by Janet Yates Vogt and Mark Friedman, this RTYA production brings together all the colorful characters from Lewis Carroll’s cherished books, including the ever-curious Alice, the eccentric Mad Hatter, the frantic White Rabbit, and the domineering Queen of Hearts.

Alice in Wonderland will be headlined by Reese De La Vega Iso, Justine Narciso, and Cheska Quimno as Alice; Cara Barredo, Pinky Marquez, and Mayen Bustamante-Cadd as the Queen of Hearts; Hans Eckstein and Gerhard Krysstopher as the Mad Hatter, and Steven Hotchkiss and Gabo Tiongson as the White Rabbit. It will be co-directed by Cara Barredo and Repertory Philippines founder and artistic director, Joy Virata.

A Christmas Carol is one of Charles Dickens' most famous tales. It follows the penny-pinching Ebenezer Scrooge, who is visited by three spirits on Christmas Eve, forcing him to confront his past, present, and future. What follows is a tale of redemption with a generous sprinkling of holiday cheer.

This holiday staging is brought to life with music from Emmy, Golden Globe, Oscar, and Tony-award winning composer Alan Menken (Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Disney's The Little Mermaid, Little Shop of Horrors), lyrics from Tony award winning lyricist Lynn Ahrens (Ragtime, Seussical, Once on This Island), and book by screen and stage writer Mike Ockrent.

Brought to you by 9 Works Theatrical, this production of A Christmas Carol is directed by Robbie Guevara (Liwanag sa Dilim, Going Home to Christmas: A Jose Mari Chan musical). It stars Arnel Carrion as Ebenezer Scrooge, joined by Franco Laurel, Lorenz Martinez, Carmelle Ros, Boo Gabunada, CJ Navato, Nicole Omillo, Neo Rivera, and Molly Langley.

Where: Rampa Drag Club, Tomas Morato Extension, Quezon City.

Step back into 2005 with Ateng, a stage adaptation of Vincent de Jesus’ Palanca Award–winning piece. This Virgin Lab Fest alum about the lives of queer Filipinos in the mid-2000s is set to take the stage once more after 20 years in the closet (no pun intended).

The story follows Juicy, a devoted impersonator hopelessly in love with his charming but exploitative boy toy, Onyx. As Juicy keeps giving more than he gets, tensions flare with Kiwi, his older sibling who runs a neighborhood beauty parlor and refuses to watch him break his heart for someone who won’t love him back.

It stars Jason Barcial and Io Balanon as Juicy; Thou Reyes (making a triumphant return to the stage after eight years) and Vincent de Jesus as Kiwi; and Kokoy de Santos—in his stage debut—alongside Dyas Adarlo as Onyx.

Where: The Mirror Theatre Studios, Makati

Written and directed by Palanca Award winner Rafael Jimenez, and starring Zoë de Ocampo and Teia Contreras, Patintero sa Ayala Avenue follows a sixteen-year-old boy who, after being expelled from General MacArthur Boarding High School for Boys, spends one restless night wandering the streets of Poblacion. Throughout the night, he experiences a series of misadventures, forcing him to confront questions of religion, school, love, trauma, and guilt. But the mystery that haunts him most is deceptively simple: What really happens to the lights on Ayala Avenue after Christmas?

Ad Infinitum: Two Plays in Memoriam features staged readings of two surrealist plays, Lost Tongue: A Dream in One Act by Bea Racoma and The Black Bordello by Jay Crisostomo IV.

Lost Tongue leans into the quiet tenderness of grief. Here a Woman is shadowed by a Spectre whose life is mysteriously bound to her own. She isn’t sure what the Spectre wants from her—or what she herself seeks in its presence. All she knows is that it’s not leaving. As she moves through a shifting terrain of dreams, memories, and what-ifs, she’s compelled to confront both her grief and her sense of self.

Lost Tongue: A Dream in One Act stars Racoma as the Woman and Ranz Aganan as the Spectre, with Cholo Ledesma, Joy Delos Santos, Iman Ampatuan, Maia Dapul, and Senanda as the Chorus.

Meanwhile, The Black Bordello follows a man with nothing left to lose, fleeing the law when he stumbles into an abandoned bar that feels eerily familiar. Inside, he encounters a strikingly beautiful barmaid and her silent assistant. But as the drinks flow and the conversation deepens, he realizes these beings aren’t human at all. Misery is on tap—and the bar never closes.

The Black Bordello features Paul Jake Paule as Man, Racoma as Alice, and Vino Mabalot as Hugo.

Get ready to take flight with Hiccup, Toothless, and the rest of the dragons and vikings of Berk like never before. How to Train Your Dragon In Concert is soaring into The Theatre at Solaire this December 13 and 14, 2025, just in time for the holidays.

This special two-night event celebrates the DreamWorks beloved animated hit by having the Academy Award-nominated score played live by an orchestra as the movie is projected onto a giant screen. The music will be performed live by the 83-member Filharmonika Orchestra led by Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra’s Thanapol Setabrahmana.

Manila is on Tyla's map for her We Wanna Party Asia Tour. This is the South African singer's first time in the Philippines and we know her fans are eager to welcome her with all their energy. With viral hits "Water," "Is It," "Dynamite," "Jump", and "Truth Or Dare," Tyla's sure to wow the Filipino crowd with explosive performances, and unique mixes at the SM Mall of Asia Arena for a one-night-only show.

Another international star taking the SM Mall of Asia Arena stage is rapper and songwriter Doja Cat for her Ma Vie Tour, which features tracks from her latest album Vie such as "Cards", "Gorgeous", "Acts of Service", and "Jealous Type" along with popular hits from previous albums like "Kiss Me More," "Woman," and "Agora Hills". It's also her first time in Manila and we can't wait to hear her hits live!

Where: Smart Araneta Coliseum

If you're a huge fan of medical television drama Grey's Anatomy, then you've definitely heard of The Fray's "How to Save a Life". The band is celebrating the song's 20th anniversary (What? Time is not real, we swear) in Manila with a double-headlined show with Filipino band December Avenue. Fingers crossed that The Fray also performs their other 20-year-old songs like "Look After You" and "Over My Head". An epic throwback awaits fans who are able to secure tickets!

Where: SM Mall of Asia Arena

Zild, Unique, Blaster, and Badjao are back together and are taking on the SM Mall of Asia Arena as IV of Spades. It will be the band's first time taking on that stage and they're expected to perform songs from their most recent album, Andalucia. Our fingers are crossed they perform all the old hits too, like "Mundo", along with some of their solo work. We're glad the band's a quartet again and they're bound to perform more in 2026, but we do have to reiterate that this is a show you can't miss!

Can you believe Secondhand Serenade is already 20 years old? It was just yesterday when we were singing along to every word of "Fall For You", "Your Call", and "Vulnerable" despite the lack of heartbreak? Either way, you have adult money now to spend on a concert to sing along the classics from that decade. John Vesely, the man behind Secondhand Serenade, has two shows at the New Frontier Theater; one on December 12 and another on Decembre 14. Don't get the dates mixed up when you buy tickets!

Where: Smart Araneta Coliseum

The Cab is performing in Manila for the first time in over 10 years at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. The American rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada were kings of the 2000s and while new artists are taking over the airwaves and music streaming platforms, there's no doubt the band has cemented its place in the hearts of Filipino fans. They gave us like "Angel with a Shotgun," "Temporary Bliss," and "Stand Up," and we can't wait to hear them live after all these years.
