(SPOT.ph) Getting a passport appointment with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) can sometimes feel like trying to score tickets to a sold-out concert. You open the appointment portal, pick a date, and find yourself staring at a calendar full of fully booked slots.

That gets even more stressful when you suddenly need a passport for a last-minute trip. Instead of endlessly refreshing the DFA website for a chance at an open slot, you can now visit PengePassportPH. The free, open-source web application by BetterGov.ph tracks open passport appointment slots across DFA consular offices in real time.

How to get a DFA passpoint appointment

With PengePassportPH, you don’t need to check each branch manually. Instead, you can visit the dashboard and immediately see which of the 43 DFA offices across the country have open appointment dates.

A side list shows all available offices alongside the earliest open date at each branch. An interactive calendar also highlights dates in green to show how many offices currently have available slots. If you already have a specific travel or target date in mind, click that day to see all locations with open spots.

After choosing a DFA office, you can choose a specific date to see which time slots are still open.

If checking PengePassport every day sounds like too much work, you can even set up free email alerts. Once configured for your preferred DFA office, the platform will notify you the moment a slot opens up so you can act fast.

When you find a branch and time that works for you, just click the booking button. PengePassportPH will then redirect you straight to the official DFA portal at passport.gov.ph, where you’ll complete the usual application process. The difference is that you already know which branch has an available slot, saving you from clicking through one fully booked office after another.

Since the DFA typically releases appointment slots about two months in advance, the tracker currently displays availability through November 30.

Before you head out, make sure you have the required documents ready, with original copies and photocopies on A4-size paper:

  • Confirmation email, including your application form, receipt, and checklist

  • One valid government ID

  • For first-time applicants: PSA-authenticated Birth Certificate and PSA Marriage Certificate, if applicable

  • For renewals: Your current e-Passport

Do note that PengePassportPH is read-only and rate-limited. This means that the site only monitors and displays slot availability. It cannot store your personal information, book appointments on your behalf, or hoard slots away from other applicants.
