UP Online Courses You Can Take for Free Until the End of 2026

(SPOT.ph) Maybe this year hasn't gone according to plan, but the good news is there’s still time to be productive before the year ends—at no cost, too. The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) has released its next batch of free online courses for 2026.

UPOU's 25 courses have a little bit of everything, including artificial intelligence, accounting, marketing, climate information, research ethics, teaching, disaster resilience, and Filipino language skills. Some courses are new or returning, so there’s a reason to check the list again even if you already browsed it earlier this year.

The best part? These courses are open to everyone—no need to be a UP student, pass the UPCAT, or even be in the Philippines. They’re self-paced, too, so you can complete them whenever your schedule permits.

Most courses run for three to eight weeks, featuring a variety of resources like videos, podcasts, and electronic materials. Quizzes and assignments will also be given to enhance your learning experience.

For those who are wondering, you can definitely include your finished course on your resume, as these 16-hour training sessions are endorsed by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). A certificate is issued within two weeks after the course is completed so you’ll have proof of your newfound expertise in no time.

To enroll, create an account at model.upou.edu.ph by selecting “Log In” and completing the registration form. Check your email account to find the confirmation link.

Note that it may take up to 3 business days for the link to arrive due to high user volume. UPOU MODeL also recommends using a Gmail account or a Google-affiliated email address to make sure that confirmation messages are received.

Once you confirm your email address, you can now select the specific courses you want to enroll in. UPOU MODeL said self-enrollment remains available while the course is ongoing. For inquiries, you may email model@upou.edu.ph.
