Catch Free Bus Rides on the PITX–MOA–Cubao Route This March

(SPOT.ph) One of the easiest ways to avoid the rising fuel prices? Commute. Here’s one even better: a Libreng Sakay program between two of the largest transportation hubs in Metro Manila.

Women can ride select buses for free between Cubao Terminal in Quezon City and the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) in Pasay City, with trips running in both directions. The Libreng Sakay program is being offered as part of National Women’s Month, which means the free rides are exclusive to female passengers.

The program runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays until March 26, 2026, specifically on March 3, 5, 10, 12, 17, 19, 24, and 26. Buses will operate from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., when commuters usually rush to and from work.

Passengers who want to avail of the free ride can proceed to Gate 10, Bay 5 at PITX, where the designated buses for the program are stationed during the scheduled hours. Look for buses with a purple tarp displayed in front that reads “Libreng Sakay Para Kay Juana.” From there, female passengers can board these buses without paying a fare.

The route runs from PITX to Cubao Terminal and vice versa, passing through SM Mall of Asia (MOA) before continuing to Cubao. A regular ride on the EDSA Bus Carousel from Cubao to PITX normally costs around P46 one way, meaning commuters traveling both directions would usually spend about P92 for a round trip.

Fuel prices have been climbing again in recent weeks as global oil markets react to renewed tensions in the Middle East. Since the start of 2026, fuel prices have increased by about P6.70 per liter for gasoline, P9.40 per liter for diesel, and P7.70 per liter for kerosene after the latest round of adjustments.
