Driving Along EDSA? These Sections Are Under Repair Until January 5, 2026

(SPOT.ph) If you’ve got places to be this holiday break, expect slower drives along EDSA even after the Christmas rush. From December 24 to January 5, 2026, several inner lanes will be narrowed along some of the busiest sections of the highway, particularly around Makati and Pasay.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said these sections will undergo 24/7 concrete reblocking, while other areas will see asphalt overlay works that take up inner or outer lanes. The round-the-clock schedule will remain in place until January 5, after which DPWH plans to shift to night-only works from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. to minimize daytime disruption.

According to DPWH, the rehabilitation will be carried out lane by lane, with no total road closures expected, as part of a phased program that the agency said is targeted for completion within eight months.

EDSA rehabilitation is divided into two phases. The first four months will focus on the stretch from Roxas Boulevard to the EDSA–Orense area in Makati City. The remaining sections of EDSA will follow in the second half of the project.
