PSA: Globe Subscribers Can Stay on Instagram—Even Without Data

(SPOT.ph) They call it the dreaded 'data wall.' We've all been there. And while most of us have learned to stay on top of our data consumption, the time inevitably comes when you're mid-scroll, mid-message, mid-post... and your connection to the rest of the digital world fizzles out.

You could be in the middle of nowhere, miles from the nearest loading station. Or you could be rolling on your beach towel and it's just Too Much to get up from your perfect spot. Either way, Globe has your back.

If you're that lucky combination of Globe subscriber and Android user, you'll be among the first to experience Instagram Air, according to the telecom company's Q2 showcase. This is a collaboration with Meta that allows you to keep scrolling and messaging on Instagram, even after you've used up your data allocation.

There will be some features rendered unavailable in this mode, such as the creation of certain formats, utilizing audio, and multimedia attachments in messages—hence the alternative name of Instagram Basic.

Users will have a daily allotment of 30MB of data until your next top-up of data, which will be available within Instagram, so there'll be no need to switch apps.

There is no set date yet for the iOS rollout.
