This Local Brand Transforms the Kumot Into Stylish, Everyday Bags

(SPOT.ph) The 333 Kumot, a.k.a that thin yet homey kumot we had in our childhood homes (and even today, for some), is more than just a thing of the past. The nostalgic design with the stripes and ornate flowers has transcended being just a blanket, having been turned into wearable pieces, like polos, and, in this case, bags and pouches. We found a treasure trove full of them at the local brand Dati that are a shot of pure nostalgia.

Dati started 2026 with a small batch of kumot bags. Ten, to be exact, in the blue and green variants of the 333 Kumot. The silhouette is a classic hobo bag that's reversible so you get two bags in one. The Classic Kumot Hobo Bag's strap is long, and the body is spacious enough that even a cute little sausage dog can fit inside. The price of this piece is currently P750.

The catalog has grown a bit since then. The second piece is made more mini and is dressed in the red and orange (yes, reversible, too!) kumot colorways this time. The Mini Kumot Hobo Bag (P650) is for those who don't bring the whole house when they go out, though the interior is still roomy enough to fit your bare essentials and then some. For that little flair, the straps can be tied like a bow.

The Yakap Bag (P1,150) is the brand's newest addition to the catalog. The design is that of the pink 333 Kumot variant, but made cozier and more huggable (because we know how thin the actual blanket can be). It's like a "hug from the past," with a padded and quilted body and straps.

Last but not least, the Kumot Box Pouch (P250). It will be like taking a small piece of the past with you, along with small essentials in the most organized (and cutest) way possible. We know it's months away (though September is creeping in), but this would be a good Christmas gift for your friends and family. Dati also has sticker packs and postcards available if your loved ones love stationery.
