(SPOT.ph) If I had a coin for every time someone asked me the question, "Talaga bang P999 per month yung gym membership?", or "Nakita mo din yung ad nila?" I'd most likely already have enough money to register for a gym membership at the new homegrown gym brand BeFit—because, yes, membership is truly only P999 per month. And, for the record, yes, I did see their ads on every platform every freakin' day.

I'd be lying if the price point and aggressive marketing were not big factors in my decision to apply for a membership. To be honest, I was originally hesitant to take the plunge because the rates and offerings seemed too good to be true. But it turns out they actually are what they claim they are and more.

BeFit Gym Is All About Affordability and Accessibility

BeFit's main goal is to make fitness accessible, and is the reason for its competitive membership prices starting at P999 per month for Core and P1,199 for Platinum. Less than a thousand for an air-conditioned, 24/7 gym membership? If you think about it, that's more affordable than how much you'd normally pay for dining in a restaurant.

The first branch made its debut in the business district of Northgate Alabang—and it's equipped with more than 100 machines to support a wide range of training styles. They cover the basic gym equipment one would expect any gym to have: dumbbells, barbells, smith machine, squat racks, push-up machines, leg extension machines, leg curl machines, stationary bikes, and everyone's favorite, the treadmill. (And everyone's not-so-favorite: the stair climber.)

Say, you can already get that from a bakal gym for a fraction of the cost. BeFit goes above and beyond by adding workouts that aren't as common in fitness hubs. For the Platinum members, they have access to try HYROX machines like the Ski Erg and Sled Push—plus other community-driven classes like mat Pilates, yoga, cycling, dance, and more. For the girls and guys who want power buttocks, the gym also has a designated area for Norway's glute training equipment, the Booty Equipment, with machines like the Standing Abductor and Hip Thrust Machine.

That focus on wellness doesn’t stop at the workout floor. BeFit also leans into a more holistic approach to fitness, offering in-house nutritionist consultations and physiotherapy services—because sometimes real progress happens outside beating your PR. These services come at an additional cost on top of the membership fees, but the rates are kept affordable, in line with the brand’s goal of making fitness very accessible.

Soon enough, the Northgate Alabang branch will also house Dalisay Corner, the gym’s partner café, for those who need a caffeine hit before—or after—powering through leg day. The menu will feature a lineup of coffee and protein-packed drinks and bites developed in collaboration with BeFit’s nutritionist, just so you can stay on track with your calorie intake if you're monitoring it.

Dalisay Corner will be open to everyone (BeFit members, working folks, Southies, etc.). Gym members, however, get the perk of dining-in. Pro tip: Order the Honey Lavender Latte, or something with a punch, like the Sparkling Pickle Soda, if these are available on the menu.

What are the BeFit membership plans—and which should you go for?

BeFit keeps things fairly simple with two membership tiers—and the difference between them is quite big—despite the small price difference. The two membership plans are BeFit Core (or the basic) which, again, is priced at P999/month, or P599 every 14 days; and BeFit Platinum (premium, basically), which is priced at P1,199/month or P699 every 14 days.

That P999 monthly rate isn’t a promo, by the way. When the Northgate Alabang branch first went on pre-sale, memberships even dipped as low as P599 per month. The P999 (Core) and P1,199 (Platinum) rates are already the gym’s regular pricing.

Whichever route you take, the essentials are already covered. Both memberships come with 24/7 access to the gym, its machines, lockers, gender-specific shower areas, body composition checks, and Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi has no limit, so if you ever feel like answering emails between sets or in between HYROX classes, there’s a long communal table with outlets where you can work. Just be mindful, of course, and try not to turn the gym into your personal coworking space.

The bikes for cycling can accommodate both cycling shoes and regular shoes.

Both plans also include unlimited group classes, from spinning and dance workouts to BeFit’s own signature sessions and Live Les Mills programs. For example, you can go for the Les Mills RPM (cycling), Les Mills BodyJam (dance-based fitness class), Les Mills BodyBalance (a low-impact class merging yoga, tai chi, and Pilates), and Les Mills BodyPump (barbell-based strength training).

If I already have that much access with Core, is there a reason to still consider going Platinum? The short answer is: yes, and the reason is flexibility—in every way possible. Here are the differences between the two membership plans:

The flexibility to switch branches. Platinum lets members access all BeFit branches as the brand continues to expand across the Metro, while Core members are limited to just one location. Aside from Alabang, BeFit is opening its second branch in Makati and a third in Eastwood City—with more in the pipeline. This is a great perk if your schedule regularly drags you across the city for work, errands, or the occasional night out. It’s nice knowing you can squeeze in a workout wherever you happen to be.

Platinum also offers a different kind of flexibility—literally. Members get unlimited specialty classes like yoga and mat Pilates, which, as anyone who has tried booking a studio session knows, is even more expensive than the monthly BeFit rates. The Platinum plan also includes unlimited HYROX sessions, Les Mills digital workouts, and access to the massage chairs for post-workout recovery and relaxation. Core members can still access these, but they’re treated as add-ons rather than built-in perks.

Another small but thoughtful feature: Platinum members can freeze their membership for up to three months per year, which is useful if you’re traveling—or, in the worst case scenario, you're sick and need time to recover.

HYROX Sled Push

I wouldn't blame you if you had your suspicions about BeFit's pricing. I had them myself, and the suspicions only grew stronger seeing the gym with my own eyes—in a "What's the catch here?" moment. In the end, though, the decision came down to a simple thought: I have nothing to lose.

If I can pay for my coffee, matcha, anik-anik, and other impulse buys... Why not this? Why not for my health, right? Sometimes, when something you've long wanted lands on your lap like that, the only thing to do is accept it, say thanks, and see where it leads you.

And if it turns out BeFit isn’t for me, or for you? That’s fine, too. The membership can be cancelled anytime—no strings attached. So far, though—after surviving a session of Ashtanga yoga and a round of Les Mills BodyPump—I already have other classes booked for that much-needed serotonin boost.

How to become a BeFit member

To sign up, visit BeFit's website. The membership is completely contactless, and there's no one pressuring you to sign up. BeFit has also removed some of the usual barriers that come with gym memberships, such as lock-in contracts or hefty upfront payments, and adding a cancel-anytime option.

Once you're a member, download the BeFit mobile app (available for Android and iOS), as these would serve as the digital key to enter the gym. This app is where you can see and book the scheduled classes.
