Hunt + Donate Pre-Loved Supplies at Common Room's Secondhand Market

(SPOT.ph) For creators and makers, a decluttering sesh is much-needed at the start of every year. It's to make space for the new pieces and, of course, memories for yet another run. But before you throw the things that no longer serve you, you might want to consider giving them a new home instead—maybe other artists can find joy in items that once brought you happiness.

Common Room is holding a weekend secondhand market this month. Whether it's to buy other artists' preloved tools, donate your old stuff, or mend your old and worn-out supplies, you can find it here. Whatever it is you're looking for, you'll bring home something meaningful during your visit here, for sure.

New year, new... clean slate. We mean that literally and figuratively. If you've been thinking of where to put all your art tools and supplies, as well as other pieces or buy other makers' stuff, you can check out Common Room's Re-Store: Recover + Reclaim Market, happening on January 24 and 25, at the Mess Studio in the Atrium of Makati.

There, fellow artists and makers will have their pre-loved creative tools and supplies rehomed in this two-day affair.

Some of the creatives joining in on the fun, a.k.a selling their items, are: Glorious Dias, Rio Cuervo, Art Cycle Manila, Debscribes, HABI&KATSA PH, Monica Melchor, Patricia Babas, Alunsina Handbound Books, Gae Yamar, Dianne Nicole Fernando, Heart Cheeks Studios, Ava Bernabe, Ninscreates, Jayvee Creates PH, Abigail He, Andrea Gail Evangelio, and Paperaica Shop for Day 1.

For Day 2, there will be Bedazzled Accessories, Pottery Sessions, Katlyn's Nest, Nicole Lopez, Fandom Feels, Craft Carrot, Madaling Kausap, Christian de Jesus, The Art of Yarn, How Toteful, Scribblers Club, Solei Cruz, Jane de Vera, Caitlin Ng, Christine Deanon, and Trish Calderon.

But if you're looking to just donate your supplies, too, you can "give what you can and take what you need," on site. Common Room will have a donation area during those days. You can donate art tools and lightly used supplies, stationery, paper goods, print materials, books, resource books, magazines, zines, textiles, fabric scraps, yarns, threads, sewing notions, small creative gadgets, and organizing tools and storage accessories. Heck, you can even drop off clean paper, plastic bags, and clean packaging like bubble wrap, mailers, et cetera, at Common Room branches nationwide (except Spatio) on January 24.

Common Room's Mess Studio at The Atrium will also have mending and repair stations if your art supplies are looking for a quick fix. Truly, Common Room is a haven for creators and makers, an avenue to share their love for art and making.

Common Room's Re-Store: Recover + Reclaim Market will happen on January 24 and 25 at Mess Studio, Atrium of Makati, Makati Avenue, corner of Paseo de Roxas, Urdaneta Village, Makati. Their doors are open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and admission is free.
