Local Brand Groundwork Is Now Available in Opus Mall's Spatio

Local brand Groundwork was built by bikers for bikers so they know how to solve those problems and they're definitely worth checking out in case you haven't heard of it yet. In case you don't know about Groundwork, the local brand focuses on creating pieces Filipinos can wear for both work and play. Majority of the materials used for their apparel are breathable, lightweight, and quick to dry so its you can stay cool in the Philippine heat.

For a tropical country that knows only heavy rains and sweltering summers, getting gear that can withstand the weather is a must. Bikers and movers will also enjoy the multiple pockets and compartments, along with the strategically placed buttons, closures, and zippers, all without breaking the bank.

While their pieces are practical, that's not to say you can't rock them with your other clothes for lounging around on a slow day. Function and form coexist in their pieces, like it does in these Knee Gusst Utility Pants in Black (P3,500) which features airy but durable ripstop fabric and contrast stitching.

Groundwork got its start in 2019 in Poblacion, Makati City when founders Rafael and Clarence Betilez reignited their love for biking. With no other brand addressing their needs as bikers, they decided to make their own brand with clothes that met their lifestyle's demands. Fellow bikers in the community started talking about the chic yet functional pieces, and it was only a matter of time before the all-online endeavor would take root in Rafael's hometown of Poblacion and take up space as a physical store.

Thanks to the input from the couple, their friends, and buyers-turned-friends, Groundwork's design philosophy is guided by function without sacrificing form. It's why the pocket placements make sense, the materials fit our climate, and all in all ideal for the Filipino on the go.

While Groundwork, and its original brand Thy Origins, is easily accessible online and in Spatio, the main store in Poblacion continues to house the label's products and serves as a safe space for bikers and their community.
