Here's Where to Catch a Whiff of blk’s Newest Fragrance Line

They got you covered from skincare, makeup, and yes, even fragrances. They just unveiled blk Scents, with not just one, not two, but five pure perfumes to add to your collection.

ICYDK, blk already had a line of perfumes. Around 2019, they had scents inspired by Korea's seasons: winter, spring, summer, and autumn. This time, more than five years later, they’re re-entering the fragrance scene with blk Scents, which are universal experiences trapped inside the bottles.

Speaking of bottles, the packaging is a standout. Unlike the usual rectangles, squares, rounds, and ovals that perfume bottles typically have, these fragrances are housed in a bottle shaped like the blk logo with a beautiful gradient effect. The dip in the middle of the bottle allows for an effortless grip and precise hold, and were thoughtfully designed in Spain.

There are five scents in the collection: Al Fresco Summer, Slow Dance, Candied Kisses, Lazy Mornings, and Quiet Ember. These scents are meant to evoke memories that are "intimately personal yet universally felt." They come in 20ml and 50ml sizes. And of course, we know how risky blind buying perfumes is, and they do, too, so they have samples in their physical stores for you to take a whiff and decide which scent to get.

All perfumes are formulated with 25% concentration of fragrance oils, and are made to last up to 12 hours. So, you'll definitely smell good from morning to night. The prices start at P599.

According to the website, Quiet Ember contains top notes of bergamot and orange; with middle notes of neroli and lily; and base notes of amber and cedarwood. This scent leans on citrus and soft wood, reminiscent of the golden hour, with its bright yet calm smell.

Bright yet soft, Al Fresco Summer has top notes of Tangerine and Lemon; mid notes of Lily of the Valley and Apricot; and base notes of Sandalwood and Tonka Bean. It borrows the feeling that you can get when you're in an al fresco seat next to nature, from the bright morning to the afternoon—radiant, airy, and warm.

If you're feeling romantic, take a whiff of Slow Dance. It opens with Freesia and Pear as its top notes; then Turkish Rose and Peony; and settles with Vetiver Frass and Cashmeran. Its 20ml variant is already sold out on their website, so you already know who's the favorite sibling.

The playful sibling is probably Candied Kisses. According to the site, the scent is bright, sweet, and softly romantic. It contains top notes of Apple and Strawberry; middle notes of English Rose; and base notes of Chantilly Cream and Vanilla. It's deliciously playful and tender. Think cotton candy and warm laughter in a bottle.

Last but not least, a feeling that we're all familiar with: Lazy Mornings. It has Fig and Grapefruit as its top notes; Peony and Vanilla Orchid as its middle notes; and White Musk and Airy Cotton for its base. It's said to be cozy, clean, and intimate, like fresh sheets on an early morning. Personally, this is the scent that we're eyeing.

For the uninitiated, the blk Scents are pure perfumes (a.k.a parfum or extrait de parfum). It's the most concentrated form of fragrance, with typically 20% to 30% of scented perfume oil. It's the strongest and longest-lasting compared to eau de parfum (15 to 20%) or eau de toilette (5 to 15%).

blk Scents are available online via blk's website and on their official Shopee and Lazada pages. The 20ml bottle retails at P599, while the 50ml is priced at P1,199. You can also get the full set for P4,999 from P5,996 (50ml) and for P2,499 from P2,995 (20ml) from their website, Shopee, and Lazada.
