Playful Hues Bounce Off Holiday Homeware in This IKEA Collection

(SPOT.ph) So, you now finally understand why Mom always had a separate set of pretty plates reserved for when guests are over—after having hosted your friends and family over your new space a couple of times, no less. They make every meal shared a bit more special, and, well, they make the table look nice overall. But also, now, you don't even need a special celebration to bust it out of the cabinets.

For the coming holidays, for any future occasions, or, really, just sharing a simple meal from now on, IKEA has released a 12-piece tableware and homeware set in collaboration with Swedish designer Gustaf Westman to make all your table moments special.

If you're looking for a fun set of porcelain plates, cups and even candleholders and lamps to amp up your dining table, you should definitely check out the IKEA x Gustaf Westman collection. It's the Swedish designer's first-ever product design collaboration with another company.

"Celebration often comes with established traditions, and we were curious to explore a more fun and inclusive take. Teaming up with Gustaf Westman felt like a natural match to help us reimagine the holidays with a twist. His approach to colour and form feels very true to IKEA, but he challenges conventions in a bold, expressive way. We are thrilled to make the work of such an exciting designer accessible to a wider audience," says Maria O'Brian, IKEA Range Identity Leader.

The collection is decked in bold and colorful hues that are inviting all the same. Pinks, blues, reds, and greens playfully dance around the Westman's signature curvy, sculptural shapes. We found the collection here, on IKEA Philippines' website, and we're going to walk you through our favorite pieces. Do take note that some of them may be out of stock by now.

Our first pick from the collection is the candlestick. At only P299, it's a chubby candlestick available in bold, bright colors that can brighten any table or space. It has flared legs, and can be used as decor as is—well, not until you put your long candle in the middle of it for its function, or extra oomph (though it's oomph enough as is).

There's also a cup and saucer available in the collection. Still in stock at the Pasay City branch at P299, this set's cup is perfect for espressos and other hot beverages, and can fit right into the saucer. Speaking of, the saucer can hold all your cookies and other treats to dunk inside your drink. The plate, too, at P1,299, is made of feldspar porcelain and has a rounded square shape on the exterior with a sunken interior for your meals.

Another eye-catching piece in this collection is the pink vase. Unlike the usual vases that cradle your flowers wholly, Westman's VINTERFINT vase is designed with a thin, light-pink metal spiral, circling a rounded glass vessel in the middle. The illusion will make your flowers look like they are floating in the middle. Though they are out of stock now, we're crossing our fingers that they will restock soon.

We also spotted Westman's STRÅLA lamp in a lot of people's feeds these days, and for good reason. This lamp is unique and can look different ways—though it will still emit a soft, cozy light in whatever nook you want to put it in. This is a battery-operated lamp, so no need to look for a location where there's a socket.

It has two lights, and the unique design with two rings (the bulb is in the center) can be adjusted and pushed to stand upright. You can also let it lie flat.

The collection also has tealight holders and pillar candle holders, as well as serving plates that are perfect for some meatballs, chips, almonds, and other biscuits. You can check out the collection online.

You can check out IKEA's Holiday Collection with Gustaf Westman online and in-store, located at the IKEA Store in Pasay City, located along Marina Way, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay. Their doors are open Monday to Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m..
