PSA: Where to Pre-Order the Instax Mini Evo Cinema Hybrid Camera

(SPOT.ph) There's a nostalgia for the past as of late, and while there's no turning back time, modern-day filters and technology can give the same old look and vibe. Fujifilm's latest hybrid camera—the Instax Mini Evo Cinema—not only takes and prints photographs, it also captures videos with filters that mimic the camera quality of that specific decade. Here's where to pre-order a unit if you've been meaning to get one.

The Instax Mini Evo Cinema hybrid camera takes digital photos, videos, and even prints pictures, marking the first time Fujifilm is offering all three formats in one camera. You can create short videos,

still images, and print from your smartphone. What's most striking about the new unit is the video component, coupled with decade-specific filters.

To give photos and videos that vibe and aesthetic unique to the '70s, '80s, or any decade, simply cycle through the Eras Dial to go through the 1930s up to the 2020s. This applies to both video and audio recording, so you'll hear the crackle and choppiness reminiscent of old camcorders. You can even zoom in or out with the Zoom Lever.

Adjusting the intensity of the effects is also possible through the Degree Control Dial, which lets users choose from 10 different effect intensity levels. Simply rotate the lens ring to adjust color, contrast, and noise expression. Switch between taking video and still images with the Frame Switch. All these buttons and dials are ergonomically positioned on the camera's body for efficient one-handed operation.

Still, if you want to pilot the Instax Mini Evo Cinema like the good old, traditional camcorders, the unit comes with a Finder Attachment you can mount in front of the LCD screen for a more immersive shooting experience. The Grip Attachment is also there for a more confident and secure grip.

Self-timer and remote-shooting functions are also available so you have enough time to make it into the group shot without the blur and panic. Satisfied with the shot? You can print directly from the camera—just give the Print Lever a twist and it will print out your chosen photos. Just make sure there's film in the camera!

Like its hybrid camera and photo printer predecessors, the Instax Mini Evo Cinema also has an accompanying app not just for editing photos and printing, it also lets users edit videos of up to 30 seconds. There are also poster templates and you can print a video with a QR code that others can scan so they can watch and replay the video. The app comes with opening and ending templates! Just take note that video data is stored and playable for two years from upload date.

The Instax Mini Evo Cinema hybrid camera is priced at P22,599 and is up for pre-order until February 15 at any authorized Fujifilm store nationwide. No online pre-orders for this one, so a visit to a Fujifilm distributor is required if you want to get your hands on one.
