Weave Your Own Renegade Folk Pair at This Hands-On Workshop in Marikina

It's the care and intention of our local artisans that give more meaning to the pieces that you love, and now you have the chance to take part in the process through Renegade Folks' upcoming hands-on workshop at none other than the Shoe Capital of the Philippines, Marikina. You will even get first dibs on their newest leather sandal style, Roots.

There won’t always be an opportunity to know what it’s like to create a brand’s product and be part of the creative process, so when it comes, it’s best to grab it. The hands-on, weaving sesh is open to everyone, but there are limited slots to ensure that each guest will have enough space to be properly guided. It's not just any Renegade Folk silhouette that you'll get to make, but their newest style called Roots, which hasn't even dropped yet as of writing. Spotted on their socials, Roots is a closed-toe leather sandal with woven, colorful blocks for its upper. The workshop will allow participants to select the colors for their own pair. You'll get first dibs and help create them. How's that for a good, fun fact when someone asks you about your new shoes?

There's a fee of P4,990, but it's like buying your own Renegade Folk pair with the one-of-a-kind experience of being the one to weave the upper yourself. This already includes your own kit: a sandal base in your size and the leather strips in the color you choose. You'll be joined by the Renegade Folk team with their master maker, Kuya Danny, at the helm.

Once you're finished with the weaving, they'll be the ones to assemble your sandals and have them shipped to you after the workshop.

The workshop is going to be held for one day only, on June 20, in a corner of Casama Home along Marikina Heights. More than a brand-new, one-of-a-kind pair made by your own hands, you'll take home a newfound appreciation for our local shoemakers and brands.
