Samsung Unpacks New Foldable Phones: Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7 + Galaxy Watch8 Series

(SPOT.ph) You know we're well into the second half of the year once the second Samsung Unpacked event makes waves online. Yep, it's every Samsung enthusiast's second-favorite time of the year, when the South Korean tech giant unveils the latest of its foldable phones. Yep, the all-new Galaxy Z Flip Series is here. We got to check out them (plus more Samsung drops) at the second half of the bi-annual event last night—which happened around 10 p.m. our time—and here's everything you need to know.

Let's kick off with the Z Flip7. It's small (when folded) and mighty, packed with multimodal AI features inside a compact phone. The latest iteration is said to be their "thinnest", weighing just about 188 grams and measuring only 13.7mm when folded. It's been touted "the most advanced Z Flip ever."

For those who are always on their phone, battery capacity is important. Well, we got some good news: The Z Flip7's battery is the largest ever on a Z Flip, with a 4,300mAh battery that will deliver up to 31 hours of video playtime. For comparison, the Z Flip6 is packed with a 4,000mAh battery.

We saved the best for last for the Z Flip7, and we mean the camera specs. Samsung is known for its professional-shooting capabilities, and the Z Series is no exception. Its dual rear camera system offers a 50MP Wide and a 12MP Ultra-Wide lens. It also has enhanced Nightography, which allows you to record your concert fancams vividly. 

But that's not all for the Z Flip7, because there's also the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, which is more accessible to more users, priced P10,000 less compared to the Z Flip7. It features a 6.7-inch main display with a 50MP FlexCam. It's available only in two colors: black and white, and prices start at P56,990.

The Z Fold7, on the other hand, is also said to be ultra sleek and powerful. Despite double the screen, it's lighter than the S25 Ultra, at just 215 grams. It's 8.99mm thick when folded and 4.2mm when opened. It boasts a 6.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x cover display, and a wider screen with a new 21:9 aspect ratio. The new Z Fold is 11% larger than the previous generation, which gives you more real estate for whatever you need to do or view.

The Galaxy Z Fold7 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, also packed with a 4,400mAh dual battery, which will not just get you a smoother and more effective user experience but also longer hours of usage. You can get up to a 50% charge in around 30 minutes. Both phones are also equipped with the new One UI 8, and you'll get twice the intuition and immersion in the Z Fold7's larger screen. You can be more efficient with cool AI features like the AI Results View and tools such as the Drawing Assist, Writing Assist, as well as Photo Assist and other AI-powered tools.

The Galaxy Z Fold7 is available in three colors: Blue Shadow, Silver Shadow, and Jetblack. There's an online exclusive Mint colorway, too. For the Z Flip7 colors, you can choose from Blue Shadow, Jetblack, and Coral Red. The online exclusive color is also Mint.

That's not all, the second Unpacked of the year also introduced the latest iterations of the Galaxy Watches: the Galaxy Watch8 and Galaxy Watch8 Classic, which allow you to keep track of your health 24/7, and we mean from intense workouts to when you're sleeping.

The Galaxy Watch8 series is packed with unique health features on the Samsung Health app. Just take, for example, those who get stressed a lot at work or in life in general, the High Stress Alert, which will signal you ASAP so you can take time to breathe and manage your stress levels in real time.
