LOOK: The Paper Bunny Opens First Store in Manila

(SPOT.ph) Singaporean brand The Paper Bunny has arrived in the Philippines. Known for its puffer bags available in different sizes and colorways to suit several aesthetics and lifestyles, the Manila outpost in Uptown Mall marks the first time the brand has opened a branch outside of home country Singapore. SPOT.ph got a peek inside the store before the official opening and of course, we're taking with you with us.

The Philippine shop is The Paper Bunny's biggest branch to date—notably bigger than TPB stores in Singapore—boasting not only racks and shelves filled with bags and accessories, but also dressing rooms and a display area that's sectioned off for special activations, fresh releases, and new drops.

A huge installation in the shape of the brand's signature Arc bag greets shoppers as they enter the store. Handcrafted in the Philippines with discarded TPB materials by none other than Filipino artist Leeroy New, the installation marries both the brand's sensibilities and Filipino culture.

Most of the classics are stocked at the store like we expected, but we're pretty pumped for their Holiday Glimmers collection. Think the Puffer Swing in both the signature colorways and in the latest festive materials, Crinkle and Slick. For those who want to bring everything everywhere, the large Club Totes were also present, along with the Vessel Loft in lush suede fabrics. If you're an essentialist, the tiny-but-mighty Bottle Buddy is available in a variety of colorways, and the Utility Laptop Bag merits consideration.

We also spotted the Arc in different shades and finishes, but our fingers are crossed they bring in more of the Mini Arc and Midi Arc, too, for folks looking for size options!

Aside from the bags, TPB fans can also purchase caps and some apparel from the brand. The cap selection is expansive, but we're hoping they bring more apparel in-store once they've fully settled in. There's also something for the pet lovers and furbabies here: All colorways of the Porter pet carrier bags are stocked, and Poo Bag Charms in four different shades. The Pet Collars are also present in three designs and three different sizes.

Real ones know The Paper Bunny carries stationery and paper goods, and if you had no idea at all, a store visit is a great way to get acquainted with them. Their planners and notebooks are also in attendance, right by the shelves that house quirky greeting cards that are sure to light up the faces of friends and loved ones upon receipt.

For the packers and the oraganizers of the world, there's also the Pillow Pouch and Mini Pillow Pouch for gadgets, essentials, and more. Our stars are definitely the Packing Cubes and the Toiletries Duo Kit that make packing fun with all the bold prints yet equally functional with all the space, pockets, and compartments. They also have a wall of reusable bags that come in different patterns and sizes, and their versatile Pocket Pouches that come in Mini, Regular, and Large sizes.

Of course, it just wouldn't be The Paper Bunny without accessories to spruce up your bag and add a pop of color and personality to your OOTDs. TPB has a full wall housing the coquette Ribbon Bag Charms in multiple colorways, the Nano Puffer Swing Charm for bits and bobs, the Travel Adapter Charm Bag for all your international charging needs, the Puffer Card Pouch for IDs and cash, and the Commuter Phone Strap for hands-free carrying of your phone.

They're all displayed pegboard style, so you can choose and pair accessories and watch your vision come to life.

Remember that sectioned-off room we mentioned earlier? For now, said room is where the Philippine-exclusive TPB Charms Bar sits.

For a minimum purchase of P5,000, shoppers can customize their own The Paper Bunny carabiner. Take your pick from charms like apples, cherries, and lemons; animal charms like crabs, lobsters, and zebras; and even food charms like croissants and chillies. TPB charms—like the Arc, Puffer Swing, and Tumbler—round up the charm selection. The carabiner is available only in silver, with The Paper Bunny logo engraved on the lock. As for charms, you can select one TPB-themed charm and a maximum of three from the regular charms.

Stocks are limited for the charm bar, so best to head over to the store ASAP so you can customize your own. The elongated carabiner sits snugly on the straps of the totes, the Arc, and the Swing, regardless of size, but we'd argue it would also look cute on belt loops and through zipper holes. Charms and accessories from TPB's catalog also work with the carabiner, so have fun mixing and matching!

Don't worry about the extra costs—prices in-store are similar to the prices on the website. While it's fun browsing the website, nothing beats dropping by to see the items in person and trying them out yourself. There are still online-exclusive items though, but at least inspecting the bags and items in person can guide your online shopping experience.
