Tefal's New Rice Cooker Adds Fun + Color to Cooking Routines

Let's be real, the standard look for appliances can be boring—and truthfully, they don't fit the aesthetic. Sometimes, they ruin it, but they’ll be kept as long as they do the job well. These days, though, appliances offer functionality, style, and, in this case, even good value. This time around, they're bringing color into cooking rice with the Tefal Pop Rice Cooker.

The Tefal Pop Rice Cooker (P4,000) has everything you'll need in a trusty rice cooker, brightened with a pop of color that will make you remember the rice, even when it's not time for eating yet. This won't take up too much space on your counters, either, with its compact, regular pot-shaped design. Up to four cups of rice or 0.7L can be cooked in one go.

Next up, the colors. It's available in cute, bright hues of yellow, orange, and green, but if you want something more minimalist, there's also a plain white variant. There are no sharp edges, giving the appliance a softer, bubbly look. Think of it as a way to combat the gloomy weather.

The top lid has all the controls to make cooking rice—white and brown alike—as well as more cooking programs, like making soup, congee, stews, and even cake. Reheating your nachos is also possible here. There's an LED display that allows you to look and adjust the time, temperature, and other presets, too, if you're particular about your settings. But that's not all. It also has an NFC system on the lid, which allows you to access recipes with just a single tap. Next time, you won't be groaning at the thought of being ordered to cook rice. As a matter of fact, you might even volunteer to do it.
