New Flight Alert: Delta Is Launching Direct LA-to-Manila Flights in 2027

(SPOT.ph) If the City of Angels is on your travel radar—whether for family visits, a Hollywood experience, or are planning ahead for the next Summer Olympics—we’ve got great news. Delta Air Lines is adding nonstop flights between Los Angeles and Manila to their lineup, giving Filipino travelers another direct route to the United States starting early 2027. Consider this your sign to plan a trip across the Pacific.

Here’s everything you need to know about the new nonstop service.

Starting March 28, 2027, Delta Air Lines will add a nonstop route connecting Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). This upcoming service makes them the only US carrier operating direct flights between Manila and LA.

The service will launch with three flights weekly, then scale up to daily flights starting June 7, 2027. If you're eager to secure your seats, flights are actually already open for booking on the Delta website.

During the initial rollout, flights from Manila to LA leave on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, departing NAIA at 7:40 a.m. and landing at LAX at 6:05 a.m. the same day—that's a total flight time of about 13 hours and 25 minutes. Meanwhile, LA to Manila flights run on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, leaving LAX at 11:50 p.m. and arriving in Manila at 5:30 a.m. two days later, taking approximately 14 hours and 40 minutes.

Note that Manila is 16 hours ahead of LA, which is a pretty steep time difference that you should keep in mind when planning your itinerary.

Flights will be on Delta’s flagship Airbus A350-900, which features four different cabin tiers. Passengers will have access to seatback entertainment throughout the flight, along with free Wi-Fi for SkyMiles members. Delta One ticket holders can also relax in partner airport lounges prior to departure.

Upon touching down at LAX, there’s definitely no shortage of things to do in this sunny corner of Southern California. 

Museum lovers can admire bold contemporary art at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and explore cinema history and memorabilia at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. If you like your art with some views, then take a tram up to The Getty to see impressive architecture, European art, and sweeping city scenery in one outing. For a classic LA experience, head over to Hollywood Boulevard to spot your favorite stars along the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Travelers who want to soak up the coastal energy of the West Coast can take a stroll along the famous Venice Beach boardwalk. And if you want to see worthy competition for Philippine sunsets, head up to Griffith Park right before dusk. From here, you can witness stunning panoramas of the LA skyline with the iconic Hollywood Sign. 

Targeting the 2028 Summer Olympics is also a good move as LA is already gearing up as the host city for the Games, making it a great time to fly over and experience the Olympic buzz firsthand.
