LOOK: Play Pickleball, Basketball, and more in Marikina’s New Indoor Sports Deck

(SPOT.ph) It’s easy to feel sluggish with the dreary weather lately. But if hitting the gym isn't your preferred method of fighting off bed weather vibes, there are still plenty of indoor options to stay active. Say, playing a few rounds of basketball, or trying out pickleball? And while the rain may stop you from playing these sports outdoors, those in and around Marikina just got a new indoor spot where the sporty fun doesn't have to take, quite literally, a rain check.

Here’s everything you need to know.

Officially opened on August 10, BlueWave Sports Deck is Marikina’s newest destination for indoor sports. Located on the Third Floor of the BlueWave Mall, the sprawling space has dedicated areas for basketball, volleyball, pickleball, and badminton. Designed with a spacious layout and contemporary interiors, the sports deck is now ready for teams and groups planning an action-packed game day.

Players can head to the sports deck’s courts as early as 7 a.m. and stay until 12 a.m. These hours are available Monday to Sunday, so it’s easy to fit in a game or two within your busy schedule.

BlueWave Sports Deck has only one court for both basketball and volleyball, so you’ll have to keep that in mind when you plan your team or group’s session. But there are also two badminton courts and two pickleball courts. With the variety of sports that you can play in this new venue, it’s perfect for getting into a new sporty side quest—maybe time to start your pickleball era?

You can bring your own equipment to the court, but if you don’t have any, don’t worry. You can rent a basketball, volleyball, paddle, pickleball, and shuttlecock from the sports deck. Free lockers are also available, but you’ll have to bring your own padlock. As for food and drinks, only water or sports drinks in sealed containers are allowed in the playing area, but you can consume food in designated areas.

BlueWave Sports Deck has an online reservation system; walk-ins are also welcome but subject to court availability. Pro tip: It’s best to book online so you can check availability and secure your preferred dates in advance. You can also include the equipment you’d like to rent when you book a court.

You can pay for your booking through bank transfer for online bookings, and cash or bank transfer for on-site bookings. Submit your proof of payment together with your booking reference number for verification. Keep in mind that you should settle your online reservation within 30 minutes of receiving a booking confirmation email. Otherwise, unpaid reservations or balances will be automatically canceled.

A maximum of five (5) minutes for court set-up is included in the total hours of reservation. But teams are advised to arrive 15-30 minutes ahead of their scheduled playing time to complete registration and game preparations. Playing time will not be extended if you arrive late.

• Door Charge: P50 per booking duration

Equipment Rates:

• Basketball: P100 per hour

• Volleyball: P100 per hour

• 1 Paddle for Pickleball: P200 per hour

• Pickleball or Shuttlecock: P50 per hour

• Scoreboard with Operator: P500 per hour

• Locker: Free (Bring your own lock)
