PSA: Free Dance Classes Are Available in Makati Every Sunday This Month
It's Car-Free Sundays with a Latin twist.
Published on Sep 15, 2026
(SPOT.ph) Need a little movement to get you up and running for the week ahead? Sundays in Makati just got a whole lot more rhythmic. All month long in September, Ayala Triangle Gardens is opening its courtyard for free Latin dance fitness sessions every Sunday. No dance background required—even folks with two left feet hoping to channel their inner Shakira can learn the paso básico and join the fun.
Here’s what you need to know about these free dance fitness sessions this September.
Get moving for free with Latin dance sessions at Ayala Triangle
Led by Asia Pacific Dancesport medalist Genice Marquez, these morning Latin Dance Fitness sessions are taking over the Courtyard at Ayala Triangle Gardens every Sunday this September. The remaining sessions are on September 20 and 27, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., giving you plenty of time to work up a sweat and earn that post-workout brunch with friends.

Disclaimer: We can’t promise you’ll master Cuban hip action and body rolls after just 90 minutes. But this way, your moves will have that extra pizzazz the next time Bad Bunny pops up on your playlist.
The best thing is that these classes are completely free. Just make sure you’re all good to go with enough water, a small towel, and dance-ready footwear. No need for ballroom heels; trainers or running shoes work much better in the open-air setting.

Celebrating 3 Years of Car-Free Sundays at Ayala Avenue
These free Latin dance classes are part of the third anniversary celebrations of Car-Free Sundays at Ayala Avenue. And while it’s hard to picture Sundays in the city any differently these days, this pedestrian-friendly tradition began in 2023 as a weekend experiment to invite runners, cyclists, and fitness enthusiasts into the heart of Makati. Fast forward to today, and now every Sunday, Ayala Avenue shuts down to vehicular traffic, giving everyone a long stretch of clear pavement to jog, skate, walk their pets, or, in this case, bust out a dance move.
As a special treat for this anniversary, you can even win at these September Sunday hangouts. Make It Makati is running an anniversary giveaway until September 30. All you need to do is share a public post on your social media feed with your three favorite things about Car-Free Sundays. Make sure to tag both Make It Makati and Ayala Triangle Gardens to join. Who knows? If you’re lucky, you could win Bistro Group gift certificates or Ayala Malls Cinema passes at the end of the month.
