(SPOT.ph) Mystery Manila’s new Date in the Dark experience wants to put the age-old adage “love is blind” to the test. The immersive concept invites couples, besties, and other duos to spend their next night out in a pitch-black room.

No, this isn’t a horror story—although some first dates certainly can qualify. This literal blind date strips away your sight so you can connect without any visual noise. It’s a unique test: when you take away appearances, outfit checks, facial expressions, and even phone screens, what’s left?

If you’re curious enough to turn off the lights, here’s what you need to know before booking your slot.

What to expect at Mystery Manila’s ‘Date in the Dark’

Although Mystery Manila is known for challenging escape room scenarios, their new concept is something a little more intimate. Date in the Dark, as the name suggests, is a fully immersive experience in pitch-black darkness. An on-site facilitator is present to guide the pairs step-by-step, so you and your date won’t be fumbling around.

The 60-to-75-minute date takes you through different sensory environments where sight is off the table. Without your eyes, couples will have to use touch, sound, and taste to interact and enjoy the connection-focused activities together. No spoilers on the exact activities involved—and wouldn’t the surprise only make the experience even sweeter?

The Date in the Dark pop-up experience will run from Thursday to Sunday, from October 29 to 31 and November 5 to 22, at NBS Park in Mandaluyong City.
