(SPOT.ph) Japan is practically a pilgrimage site for Studio Ghibli fans, but Singapore is making a strong case as your next destination.
Starting this December, Singapore's Gardens by the Bay will play host to The Story of Studio Ghibli, a massive exhibition featuring life-sized installations that don’t exist anywhere else—not even in Japan.

Running from December 18, 2026, to July 4, 2027, at Gardens by the Bay’s West Lawn, The Story of Studio Ghibli will bring the legendary animation studio’s iconic worlds to life. It’s a massive production: the entire walk-through exhibit spans almost 3,500 square meters across 12 life-sized environments inspired by beloved Ghibli films.
The main attraction of this immersive experience is an eight-meter-tall 3D recreation of the unforgettable bathhouse from Spirited Away. This installation is making its public debut, and while you’re unlikely to get trapped working for Yubaba like Chihiro—well, you might want to linger for photos anyway.
Visitors will also encounter a realistic Ohmu from Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, as well as the bushy-tailed Catbus from My Neighbor Totoro. It’s a rare chance to explore scenes from over 40 years of Ghibli history, including Kiki's Delivery Service, Princess Mononoke, Howl's Moving Castle, The Boy and the Heron, and more. Each setting in the exhibit is more fantastical than the last, with interactive installations inviting visitors to be part of the story.

How to get tickets to The Story of Studio Ghibli

Adults: SGD 55 (P2,720) during peak hours, SGD 49 (P2,423) during off-peak hours
Seniors (65+ years old) and Children (3–12 years old): SGD 49 (P2,423) during peak hours, SGD 43 (P2,126) during off-peak hours.
