(SPOT.ph) If you haven’t heard yet, Butcher Boy has found a new home and has been keeping things interesting in the South for the past few months.
Although it has already bid adieu to its Makati address, the 2026 Michelin Selected restaurant hasn’t changed what it does best. You can expect the same bold Asian-inspired flavors, juicy grilled meats, irresistible baos and dumplings, and cocktails—only now, you’ll find them at its new home in Alabang, making it the only Michelin-awarded restaurant in the neighborhood.
Butcher Boy moves to Alabang West Parade
Following its relocation to Alabang, the Michelin Guide updated the restaurant’s listing, noting that its new location “has not eschewed its passion for bold, flavour-driven Asian cooking.” If anything, the Guide’s latest description serves as a reminder of what diners can expect: “legible, deftly crafted dishes” shaped by “Southeast Asian influences with contemporary techniques.”

Butcher Boy first opened in Salcedo Village in Makati in December 2024, bringing acclaimed chef Andrew Walsh’s dining concept to the Philippines. Walsh is a Singapore-based Irish chef whose career has taken him through major kitchens in Dublin, London, New York, Sydney, and Singapore. He is the chef behind Cure, his Singapore restaurant that earned a Michelin star in 2019, cementing his place in the city-state’s dining scene.
So when word got around that Walsh was bringing Butcher Boy to Manila, it was easy to see why diners were excited. This isn’t the chef’s fine-dining side, but a more relaxed expression of what he loves to eat. Think grilled meats, fluffy baos, and the comforting Asian flavors he’s come to know after more than a decade in the region.

“My love for a good steak, along with bao buns and dumplings, forms the backbone of Butcher Boy's menu,” he told Spot.ph in an interview in 2025. “I wanted it to be a good neighborhood restaurant, with a diverse crowd, and I feel lucky that we have that here.”
Fast-forward to today, and that dream has found its way to Alabang. With the area’s mix of families, young professionals, and longtime loyal Southies, it feels like a natural fit for the kind of diverse crowd Walsh had envisioned for Butcher Boy from the start.
The address may have changed, but the Butcher Boy experience remains the same: an easygoing spot where you can have family meals, catch-ups with friends, or those spontaneous food trips when you just want to eat something seriously satisfying. And trust us, you’ll have plenty to choose from: start with the Laksa Dumplings (P540), Beef Bo Ssam, Sticky Pork Adobo Bao (P1,510), or Fried Chicken Bao (P310).
Butcher Boy is at 2/F Alabang West Parade, Daang Hari Road, Alabang, Muntinlupa City. Open daily, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. For reservations or inquiries, call 0945-312-7418.
