Coffee Plz is Back: Free Entrance, 60 Coffee Roasters, 8 Matcha Merchants + More

(SPOT.ph) Last year's Coffee Plz festival returns for its second run with a few exciting key changes—don't worry, entrance is still free. This time, the festival stretches to three days at a new venue, with a bigger, palpitation-inducing lineup of local and international coffee roasters and matcha brands.

Things can get pretty intense... in a good way, at least, based on our experience last year. With that in mind, we've put together this comprehensive guide to help you navigate the three-day, caffeine-fueled festival, from the list of merchants to the events and activities worth checking out.

Coffee Plz brings together roasters from across the country—several of which are from Metro Manila and a number from outside, such as Cebu's Good Cup Coffee Co., Zamboanga's Taza Coffee, and Zambales' Hometown Cafe, alongside familiar names from Metro Manila. It's a good excuse to discover beans and roasters you might not otherwise come across without booking a flight or a long drive.

You can get your coffee beans from international coffee roasters at Coffee Plz without booking an expensive flight—despite news of surcharge drops. The festival will bring in roasters from Australia, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, UAE, and Vietnam.

Should you want a more relaxed, sit-down experience after the festival, there are three international coffee roasters from the lineup that have already branched out in the Philippines. Singapore's Common Man Coffee Roasters is at Ayala Triangle, Makati City, and West Gallery Place, Bonifacio Global City; Japan's Kurasu is at The Palisades, Makati City; and Australia's St. ALi is at Grand Hyatt Manila, Bonifacio Global City and Opus Mall, Quezon City.

In the sea of coffee merchants, you'll also find matcha merchants whisking about—a significantly bigger lineup compared to last year's. Jacque and Matcha and Jacob's Well Chai will return, but now alongside brands like The Matcha Tokyo and The Matcha Co.

If you're always trying new matcha shops, perhaps in search of the best microfoam-ed matcha latte in town, you should try 16 Matcha and Rogue Matcha. These two brands will be making its debut during Coffee Plz 2026.

The only foreign matcha merchant at Coffee Plz is Singapore-based café Hello Arigato. They are bringing their matcha game to Coffee Plz, including crowd favorites like the Strawberry Matcha Cloud and Strawberry Matcha Latte. They are also coming out with a festival-exclusive Banana Pudding Matcha Latte made in collaboration with M Bakery.

You'll need to eat something with all the caffeine you're drinking. All of the food merchants at Coffee Plz have their own baked specialties, including croissants, pain au chocolat, doughnuts, and cream puffs. There's something whether you're in the mood for something buttery and flaky, sweet and indulgent, or light enough to pair with your coffee.

These are the merchants you need to check out if you tend to geek out about coffee or are an entrepreneur wanting to open a café. There's Eightyplus (Coffee Plz co-presenter) if you want to source green coffee beans, Oatbedient and Oatside for your alt-milk options (take this as a chance to stock, too!), Standard Supply Studios for brewing equipment, and more.

September 4: Local Legends

Take a closer look at how coffee culture in the Philippines has changed through discussions with three key speakers.

September 5: AeroPress Championship

Yardstick has long been hosting the Philippine AeroPress Championship. Now in its 12th year, it's happening at Coffee Plz, bringing in over 100 brewers who will battle for the championship title. The winner gets to represent the Philippines at the World AeroPress Championship 2026 in Mexico.

There's no need to buy full-serving portions of coffee or matcha just to see if it's your cup of caffeine—unless, of course, your stomach can handle that much caffeine. You can take it easy with this year's festival kit (P900 per bundle, save P150 when you pre-order) which includes a new tasting cup (with the new Coffee Plz avatar!) plus three tokens for sampling. The tokens can be exchanged for one tasting portion from any of the Coffee Plz merchants during the festival.

If you just want the Coffee Plz-branded tasting cup, you can buy it solo for P750. Other branded merch available at this year's festival are three statement tote bags (P700 each): Team Coffee (white text on blue), Team Matcha (yellow text on green), and PLZ. (white text on black).
