LOOK: Glorietta Opens Its Newest Cinema—and It Looks Cozy AF

(SPOT.ph) A lot’s been happening at Glorietta lately—construction here, detours there—but not all change brings headaches. Case in point: its latest addition, a fresh new cinema that’s ready to welcome moviegoers.
Ayala Malls Glorietta just unveiled its newest movie theater: A-Luxe, and it might just be exactly what you need to peel yourself off the couch and back in the theater. Here's why catching a movie at this new spot might be your weekend’s main event.

Ayala Malls Glorietta has officially relaunched its renovated cinemas this August, giving moviegoers a "reimagined" movie theater experience after months of seemingly never-ending construction in the area.
At the center of the new movie experience is A-Luxe, the mall's premium theater, featuring redesigned interiors, better ambient lighting, plush seats with bigger legroom, and high-tech laser projection, resulting in sharper, more vivid images. It's also equipped with immersive Dolby Atmos sound systems because, who doesn't want to feel every thump, beat, and swelling score resonate in their seats?

Unlike most cinemas of the past that have over 100 seats right beside each other, A-Luxe offers a more intimate setup reflective of the post-COVID movie theater experience. It features 60 motorized recliner seats with 710mm width, ample legroom and wider spaces in between seats—yes, no more fighting with your seatmate for the armrest. There's also a bonus personal tablet per seat and a USB charging port.

But we all know the movie theater experience starts well before we enter the cinema itself. Another feature of the Glorietta cinema refresh is the entertainment lobby. Gone are the days when you stand around the cinema doors waiting for your show schedule. Now you can linger and unwind at the lobby, fitted with relaxed seating areas.
But if you're the type who loves catching the trailers, the refreshed lobby also features a massive, 300-square-meter, 13K-resolution LED wall-to-ceiling screen, which will not only be used for more immersive storytelling during special functions but also for showcasing movie trailers enveloping movie-goers in the theater experience even before the doors to the cinema open.

The new theater is also conveniently connected with restaurants in Japan/ Korea Town, which means you can grab a quick bite just before the movie starts. Alternatively, you could also get fresh eats at The Movie Snackbar also available in the area.
All of this sounds like a great way to treat yo'self after a long week—or maybe just after a particularly harrowing work day. So next time you're in Makati and are debating just heading home to doom scroll or stream a show, why not check out Glorietta's newest cinema for a change.
