Greenbelt, Glorietta, TriNoma: Here's What's New and What's Next for Ayala's Flagship Malls

(SPOT.ph) Over the past few months, the sight of “sorry for the inconvenience” board-ups and the sound of drilling and hammering have filled up some of Ayala Malls’ flagship properties around the Metro—Greenbelt, Glorietta, TriNoma, and Ayala Center Cebu, too, to be more specific. It was in February this year that Ayala Malls announced its plans to redevelop and reinvent its flagship malls and five months in, they've unveiled major updates and teased things to expect from Ayala’s malls in the future. Think intuitive pathways, more greenery and open spaces, including outdoor parks and al fresco areas.

Greenbelt seems to continue to take Philippine shopping to new heights, and on par with global standards, courtesy of a wide selection of high-end brands and concepts inside the mall.

Take, for example, Italian luxe brand Golden Goose, which opened a pop-up in February. The Zara flagship store also got some major renovations and reopened its doors in the following month. Just recently, the first-ever Alo Yoga store in the Philippines put down roots in Greenbelt, too, just across Zara. Not to mention Paris' luxe brands Sandro and Maje opening a few weeks back.

This month, too, New York-based fashion brand Alice + Olivia is set to open. All of these are, of course, in Greenbelt 5. More global premium and world-class local brands are set to make Greenbelt their home, so that's something to look forward to in the years to come.

Greenbelt 2 promises to make a comeback as the pulse of nightlife, entertainment, and lifestyle, to be filled with a mix of over 20 culinary and mixology destinations. It will be home to T:28, which is an upscale destination concept from Ayala Malls.

For Glorietta, a.k.a Greenbelt’s famously hard-to-navigate sibling, the reinvention can already be seen through its grand mall (facing Ayala Avenue, ICYDK). The facade, for one, and the “Glorietta” font change have caught the attention of casual shoppers, residents, and office workers around the area. It oozes a modern, sleek look. 

All of Glorietta’s interiors and exteriors will follow through with a refreshed atmosphere and look through hallways, car parks, activity centers, and even cinemas. They’re also working on drop-offs and, of course, a park smack dab in the middle of the bustling area.

Called The Plaza, the park will be seamlessly integrated with the main mall and with One Ayala for a more walkable experience. Speaking of, Glorietta 5 recently opened a walkway that connects the mall to One Ayala via the al fresco area to make going to and from establishments easier and faster. The plaza is said to be completed next year.

MUJI’s three-level flagship store also opened in Glorietta 3 this year. 

Ayala Malls’ brightest star in the North, TriNoma, is also among the flagship malls undergoing major renovations. Their cinemas, for one, are getting plush seating and Dolby Atmos across all screens. Next week, Ayala Malls is unveiling the A-Giant screen at TriNoma, featuring a screen four times larger than their regular ones for a more immersive experience. 

More global stores are settling down in the area as well. Australian home and lifestyle brand Anko, to be more specific, just opened this month. It’s their biggest store in the Philippines so far. More dining experiences and concepts are set to be brought inside TriNoma, like Burnt Bean, H Proper Coffee Roasters, Little Flour, Pizza Sisters, and Key Coffee—to name a few. Dining spaces like the Dining Row at the Mindanao Lobby and Garden Restaurants will experience a glow-up with more flavors and refreshed spaces.

TriNoma is also integrated into the Unified Grand Central Station, where the lines of LRT 1, MRT Line 3, and MRT Line 7 connect, making it easier and smoother for shoppers to go to and from various areas of the Metro.  

By 2026, TriNoma is also set to expand with a further 17,000 square meters of additional retail and office space.

One in Kawit, Cavite, is the Ayala Malls Evo City with exciting play spaces. There's also the Ayala Malls Arca South opening this December.
