About Us But Not About Us will be back on stage in October 2026
After its successful run in February, The IdeaFirst Company will stage the acclaimed production again at the Power Mac Center Spotlight Blackbox Theater in Circuit Makati from October 2 to 25, 2026.
For the uninitiated, About Us But Not About Us begins as a seemingly casual conversation between a literature professor and his student, but soon spirals into a tense psychological confrontation as buried secrets, lies, and long-held truths come to light.
The film originally premiered in the 2023 Summer Edition of the Metro Manila Film Festival and went on to win 10 awards, including Best Film. But beyond retaining the title, the February adaptation also brought back its lead stars, Romnick Sarmenta (who bagged Best Actor for his role in the movie) and Elijah Canlas, in their original parts as Eric and Lancelot—and yes, both Sarmenta and Canlas are also back for this October's rerun.
Also reprising their roles from the first run are Epy Quizon and Andoy Ranay, who alternate as Marcus. Kobie Brown joins the roster, alternating with Canlas as Lancelot. Director Tuxqs Rutaquio will also double as the second Eric this run.
The performance will run for one hour and 45 minutes without intermission. But note that this play is intended for mature audiences only. Guests under 18 will not be admitted.
