And if there’s one flick that’s practically guaranteed to make the cut, it’s Home Alone. Watching this Christmas classic bundled up on the couch is already a treat, but we’ve found another way to enjoy the holiday favorite—this time, with a live musical accompaniment.
Get ready to scream, “Kevin!” and mark your calendars: Film Concerts PH is bringing Home Alone in Concert to Manila this December. Here’s everything you need to know.
What to expect at Home Alone in Concert:
Kevin McCallister's antics are getting a whole new stage as Home Alone gets the film concert treatment this December 19 and 20 at The Theatre at Solaire.
ICYDK, Home Alone stars Macaulay Culkin as eight-year-old Kevin McCallister, who was accidentally left behind when his family flew to Paris for Christmas vacation. Realizing that two bungling con men are planning to rob the McCallister residence, Kevin turns to hilarious antics and pranks to defend the family home on his own.
Home Alone in Concert features the 85-member Filharmonika Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Gerard Salonga, performing John Williams' Academy Award-nominated score as the film is screened on a large display. Additionally, the 48-member Philippine Madrigal Singers will also be performing, adding even more holiday cheer to the film's most beloved musical moments such as Somewhere in My Memory, O Holy Night, Star of Bethlehem, and Carol of the Bells.
Apart from being a new way to experience this classic, Home Alone in Concert is also the first-ever holiday show produced by Film Concerts PH. This two-day run will also mark the orchestral performance’s long-awaited Philippine debut, more than a decade after it premiered in Cleveland, Ohio, in 2013.
