Avid show-watchers and concert-goers are gearing up for yet another month filled with shows and concerts, and as always, we've listed them down below so you can mark your calendars, invite friends, and get tickets. If you haven't caught a show this year, September is definitely the time to catch up. Get a dose of fairy-tale magic with Cinderella, A Tale of the Glass Slipper, courtesy of Repertory Philippines' REP’s Theater for Young Audiences (RTYA).

Directed by Joy Virata and Cara Barredo, the musical follows our beloved heroine as she survives a hilariously wicked stepmother and outrageous stepsisters, all while dreaming of a night at the royal ball. With help from her loyal rat bestie Putterman and a sparkling Fairy Godmother, Cinderella’s journey is filled with charm, comedy, and a few magical twists—ultimately reminding us that sometimes, all it takes is one brave first step.

Watch the final showdown between the Rebel Alliance and the Imperial Forces through this film-to-concert experience. Catch the last film of the OG Star Wars trilogy on a massive 40-foot screen as the Filharmonika Orchestra, under the baton of Gerard Salonga, performs John Williams’ GRAMMY-winning score live alongside the film.

If you loved the Nicholas Sparks novel and the Ryan Gosling–Rachel McAdams film, here’s your dose of 2000s nostalgia—now on the Manila stage. Follow Allie and Noah’s timeless love story in the first international production of The Notebook: The Musical, presented by Theater Group Asia.

Making its international debut outside North America, the beloved Nicholas Sparks classic brings Noah and Allie’s unforgettable romance to life with a moving and romantic score by Ingrid Michaelson. Get ready to fall in love, shed more than a few tears, and feel every emotion as this heart-wrenching story of love lost and love found unfolds onstage.

From the creative minds behind the 2013 hit musical Sa Wakas, Muli the Musical is an all-original production about love, loss, and the what-ifs that linger in our lives. It follows Anita, played by award-winning theater, film, and TV actress Kakki Teodoro, on a nostalgic, visually immersive trip through the ’90s and early 2000s as she confronts unfulfilled dreams and the possibility of second chances.

The musical features original OPM music by singer-songwriter Nica del Rosario and violinist, musical director, and composer Michael Chang, with a book by Charissa Pammit and direction by Andrei Pamintuan.

Joining Teodoro are OPM OST Princess Janine Teñoso, making her stage debut, alongside top-billing actors Vien King, Marvin Ong, Jstine Pena, and Marunor Madamesila. Baus Rufo also joins the cast in his first professional theater production.

If romance with a side of chaotic comedy is your idea of a good time, A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a show you wouldn't want to miss. This comedy is one of Shakespeare’s most beloved crowd-pleasers. It follows four hapless lovers and a band of amateur actors who wander into an enchanted forest—and accidentally spark a fairy feud along the way. Throw in Puck’s mischievous magic, and suddenly love gets very, very complicated.

This staging will be directed by Jeremy Domingo in partnership with St. Scholastica’s College.

Get ready to relive the glitz, groove, and nostalgia of Manila Sound with Bongga Ka ’Day!: The Annie Batungbakal Musical. This jukebox musical from PETA Plus brings the iconic disco beats of OPM band Hotdog to the stage, blending classic songs with big fashion and a story about chasing your dreams—even when it means losing yourself along the way.

The musical follows Annie Batungbakal (Atasha Muhlach), an ambitious sales clerk who sneaks into Manila’s glamorous disco scene with dreams of becoming a fashion designer. As she gets swept up in the dazzling world of music, style, and romance, Annie must figure out just how far she’s willing to go for the life she wants.

Joining Muhlach are Sam Concepcion, Anthony Rosaldo, and Jeff Moses, who alternate as Romer Pasion, the worldly flight attendant and heir to House of Pasion. KD Estrada plays Burn, a folk-rock musician determined to make his mark with original music. The cast also includes Jackie Lou Blanco, Ring Antonio, Air Paz Pablico, John Lapus, Dindo Divinagracia, Yani Lopez, Andrea Babierra, Gerhard Krysstofer, and Akie Cedilla.

Directed by Chris Millado, Bongga Ka ’Day! features a book by Liza Magtoto and musical direction and arrangements by Vince Lim. The creative team includes choreographer Stephen Vinas, assistant director John Moran, set designer Ohm David, lighting designer John Batalla, costume designer Hershee Tantiado, hair and makeup designer Johann Dela Fuente, and dramaturg Eric dela Cruz.

Based on Cheeno Marlo Sayuno’s International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) Honouree children's book, Sayaw ng mga Ilaw is a movement-based theater piece for young audiences that explores hope, family, and healing.

The story follows young Laya, who dreams of learning the traditional Pandanggo with the help of her older sister. But when their construction-worker father fails to come home, their family is left dealing with uncertainty and loss.

As Laya and her family find their way through grief, she discovers that light can be found not just in dance, but in the love and strength of family.

Initially staged by CAST PH as a staged reading in 2025, Lucy Prebble’s The Effect returns to the stage this September as a full production. The play follows Connie and Tristan, two volunteers who sign up for a clinical trial testing a new antidepressant. What begins as a routine medical experiment takes an unexpected turn when the two develop an attraction to each other. As their feelings grow and their doses increase, they begin to wonder: Is what they’re feeling real, or is it simply a side effect of the drug?

Returning from the 2025 staged reading are Sue Ramirez as Connie Hall and Brian Sy as Tristan Frey. Dean Daniel Rosen plays Dr. Toby Sealy, while Cathy Azanza-Dy takes on the role of Dr. Lorna James. Chaye Mogg serves as the understudy for Connie Hall.

The production is directed by CAST PH executive director Sarah Facuri, with Teia Contreras as assistant director. The creative team includes Carlos Hombrebueno as the sound designer, Jethro Nibaten as the lighting designer, and D Cortezano as the set designer.

Where: The Metropolitan Theater

Frank G. Rivera's acclaimed ethno-pop-rock modern zarzuela returns to the Metropolitan Theater this September. Ambon, Ulan, Baha is a Filipino musical set in the fictional Barrio Magubat. Here, young lovers Nonoy and Inday find their dreams caught in the promise of progress brought by a logging concession. As greed strips the community of its forests and traditions, nature strikes back with a devastating flood that changes their lives forever.

It stars CJ Navato as Nonoy, Thea Astley as Inday, alongside Anton Juan as the rich and powerful Don Calixto and Rendell Sanchez as Calixto's son, Doctor Anton. This 2026 restaging is directed by CJ Andaluz, with Pipo Cifra as musical arranger and director, Anthony Cruz handling choreography, Ohm David on production design, Raqs Regalado on costume design, Charlotte Despuez on lighting design, and Roman Cruz on technical direction.

If there could be a soundtrack to slowing down and just feeling the vibe, American singer-songwriter John Legend would be top of mind. The crooner is ready to serenade the Filipino crowd with his smooth vocals for An Evening of Songs and Strings, a two-night show taking place at the Proscenium Theater in Rockwell Center. Unlike the typical concert venue with a bowl and tiered seating, the venue is a bit flatter and has a balcony where people can watch from above. It's a more intimate setting, promising to bring a unique vibe and experience for those in the audience.

South Korean girl group BABYMONSTER is on tour and our archipelago is on the map. Members Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Ahyeon, Rami, Rora, and Chiquita are coming to the Philippines for CHOOM in Manila, bringing with them high-energy performances, killer tracks, and lots of personality. The girls are treating fans to live renditions of their hits like "Choom" which the concert is named after, "Sheesh", "Drip", and "Forever", plus MONSTIEZ can look forward to solo stages and covers from the members.

Husband and wife duo TJ Monterde and KZ Tandingan spent February with not one, not two, but four nights at the Smart Araneta Coliseum for their sold-out In Between concert. They were in demand then and they still are now, except this time around, they're bringing their songs live to folks in Cebu. Still directed by John Prats, the concert will feature their popular songs like "Palagi", "Simula", and "Ikaw At Ako Pa Rin", and hopefully banter and conversations with the singer-songwriter duo!

Cebu, Australian praise collective Hillsong Worship is coming over to deliver the power of song in a one-night-only show at the SM Seaside Cebu Arena. Expect songs like "Mighty To Save", "What A Beautiful Name", "Broken Vessles", and "King Of Kings", along with other tracks from their discography to be performed live.

Can't make it to Cebu? Don't worry; they have shows in Manila as well!

If you couldn't catch their concert in Cebu, you'll be happy to know that they have Manila in mind, too. Hillsong Worship will have the SM Mall of Asia Arena singing along for not one but two nights as part of their Asia tour. What was initially a one-night-only show has now expanded to two nights due to demand—a big win if you weren't able to score tickets for the first round! Do take note that while the two SM Arenas have similar seat plans, ticket links are different, so be sure you're buying tickets for the right venue and date!

When an artist's songs live years beyond the release, it becomes a legacy. Filipino singer Yeng Constantino celebrated two decades of music, songs, and performances with an anniversary show just last month, and it seems like fans can't get enough. She rocked Manila in August, and now Cebu is seeing the Biyaheng Bente 20th Anniversary Concert live this September. Her long career has given rise to earworms like "Hawak Kamay", "Salamat", "Cool Off", "Jeepney Love Story", and "Ikaw", which are all getting their much-deserved flowers during the show.

STAYC girls Sumin, Sieun, Isa, Seeun, Yoon, and J are coming over to Manila for their Stay Closer Fan Tour at the UP Theater to give Filipino SWITHs a show they won't forget. Unlike concerts that focus mainly on an artist's discography and dancing, a fan meet is an opportunity to see a different side of the girls often includes fun activities, segments, and even a chance to meet them upclose. Hit songs like "Stereotype", "SO BAD", "Teddy Bear", and "ASAP" will get the crowd cheering, but the special cover stages are sure to find space in fans' camera rolls.
