Mark Your Calendars: A Studio Ghibli Orchestral Concert Is Coming This July

Lush, melodic, and subtly rooted in Japanese sensibilities, these scores draw audiences deep into the story, turning the scenes into something you can feel long after the screen fades to black. Now imagine those themes, not through your headphones, but swelling live, performed by an orchestra. That's exactly what you'll get at The Symphonic World of Studio Ghibli concert this July. Here's what you need to know.

Experience the wonder, nostalgia, and adventure of Studio Ghibli as its music comes alive at The Symphonic World of Studio Ghibli, happening from July 31 to August 2 at The Theater at Solaire.

Get swept away to whimsical castles, enchanting worlds, and winding yet familiar streets through the music of acclaimed composer Joe Hisaishi in this two-hour symphonic concert. This will be performed across four shows, opening on July 31 at 8 p.m., followed by August 1 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and closing on August 2 at 2 p.m., giving Studio Ghibli fans more chances to catch the show.

Scores from different Studio Ghibli films, such as Howl's Moving Castle, Kiki's Delivery Service, My Neighbor Totoro, and Spirited Away, will be performed live by the 83-piece Filharmonika Orchestra under the baton of Gerard Salonga.

The show is mounted in partnership with The Japan Foundation, Manila, and is officially endorsed by Studio Ghibli. It also serves as a commemorative event for the Philippines–Japan Friendship Year 2026, marking the 70th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Tickets to The Symphonic World of Studio Ghibli concert start at P1,999 and can go up to P6,999.

These tickets officially go on sale on April 28 at 12 p.m. through the Ticketworld website.
